Corazon de Oro is probably my favorite.
Not so much this song but Mike really holds his own on the Bass parts, I don't think anyone excepted him to be able to keep up but he really impressed me.
I can't remember what year this was, I kind of remember it being 2001 or somewhere around that time and I clearly remember going back to heavy petting zoo after this and finding a new respect for his musicianship, especially on that album.
I think most people consider Punk in Drublic to be there best album but Heavy petting zoo definitely has more personality. I think the Black and white is my favorite song of there's

God I've not listened to this for well over a decade. I always remembered thinking that NOFX made the Rancid songs sound like their own - as if they'd written them themselves, while the Rancid versions of the NOFX songs sounded like covers. The Rancid version of Stickin' in my Eye is so awesome though. Every time I used to play it on bass, I always threw in the Matt Freeman intro instead of the Fat Mike version

Somehow one time I was in Baltimore for NOFX, army crawled through peoples legs until running into the front row barricade. Hack squared some chick out of the way. Mike gave me his vodka cranberry from the stage. Also met Lars once outside of the 9:30 club. Super nice guy. Punk rock is still awesome.

I like more the NOFX side, not just because I always liked NOFX more, but because the songs they picked and how they made them sound. Rancid picked simple songs, more "commercial" and their versions sounds like the originals.

Dang, NOFX really butchered the song radio.
Of all the cover songs, Rancid had to go with "don't call me white". That's my least favorite song.
I'd much rather have heard them do Fleas, Lori Meyers, or Punk Guy.

Punk rock means something more all the badasses of metal over the years all came from the school of punk rock ok kidz stand up for whats right to something real and larger if anyone thinks any of us do any of this on our own then they're plain out idiotic and have not learned to actually listen to and from the heart it's the way of your soul which you are giving away without even believing it but it is so very true my friends the bigger picture is better it is what we are losing fast and it's up to an individual to come together with all the other ones and create what's needed before what's needed gets forgot! The love of another kind! When I've got the music I've got all the same places and more I can fuckn go awesome album I remember when it came out I was just a young punk rock fan back then but it's always been in my blood! Be aware and strong for the weak
