To be honest though I feel like the shores of gold is very realistic for what it is. As a pirate you would hear rumors of a mystical land filled with riches so far away it is practically unreachable just for when one finally arrives they figure out it was all just a big build up and hype up of nothing but the true treasures and secrets there lie farther underneath the sand
@@ItsChronoHawkAh yes, the game delivers on the fantasy of a pirate adventure. But because its not suppose to be realistic, that delivery is a bad thing actually. Cheers.
Rapier Cay being so high made me happy. It was the first island I ever went to, digging up a single castaways chest before returning to Sanctuary to sell it for its measly price. I remember it like it was yesterday.
Kraken's is awful, but at least once you kinda know the place you can get out quickly. There is no escaping Old Faithful. You will be stuck trying to find whatever you're after for forever, and then once you do it'll take you just as long to find your ship. Also this list is Devil's Roar slander! That, or I've spent way too much time out there and have come to consider the volcanoes home. One of the two! (Overall good list though).
3:00 i think the vault on fetcher's rest is one of the most reachable, and easy to collect loot from. a sloop approaching from north-west can easily fit through the rocks between the north and main islands unscathed, and it will end up right in front of the cave entrance leading to the vault. there, you turn the ship's nose towards the cave to the south, lower sails and use left harpoon to keep pulling ship towards the inside of the cave. the cave's roof will push against the mast, but there will be only minimal damage to the hull and if one player can use the left harpoon to balance the force, the other can use the right harpoon to spam pull all the loot directly from the entrance of the vault. devil's roar is not a fun place to be, but i think it's the most optimal area to stack vaults - since there are only two of them, and you're less likely to be bothered by others. in only a couple hours you collect 5-6 keys (2-3 for each vault) in peace. bring vault keys in treasure chests to the vaults, open, clear, repeat. it's very uneventful except the eruptions, but very profitable and helps a lot towards the ancient vault sails.
I’ll keep that in mind, only really done that vault once or twice. I have already done my 100 vaults and I definitely wish I did them in the roar instead of the main map aha
Crescent island will always be my favorite. The cave with the sky light above is beautiful, and your boat can hide behind the island when doing the vault.
13:13 Say what you want about cursewater shores, but if you park just south of the island, you will be in the perfect spot to fish up devilfish. The island's sand is perfect for digging up grubs for bait, and the water south is out of range of all volcanoes in the area. Also brian's bazaar us just north so you can sell all your devilfish there
Morrows peak is prime for devil fish That said I've not worked on maxxing them yet, I need 8 bittersweet battlegills before I decide to tackle the roar
@@bloodybladenum1920 I did the bulk of my devilfish fishing so long ago that Morrows still had an active volcano and basicslly all the roar was in volcano range.

Only reason I went to the Devil's Roar: I did not like and still don't like doing PVP... and PvP players tended to avoid the Devil's Roar. So, despite the volcanoes, that was where I could go to focus on PvE and Voyages.
@@GeoDen06 That wasn't the case until recently. Since Safe Shores went up, I've exclusively done Safe Shores, and since, my visits to the area have become rare
I kinda miss Old Boot fort (un damned fotd) It was very pretty and it was my main looting island, and I sort of played it like my base for a tiny bit. I also had a few skeletons spawn there before shrouded spoils (the update that activated the other 6 skeleton forts in the world) and im still kinda salty that both of my favorite islands, reapers hideout, and fort of the damned were changed drastically.
Clearly you haven't looked up the Morrow's Peak sloop launch or you would've put it a lot higher. It's also a great place to sell treasure without being bothered by other crews.
Fetchers rest has an inner body of water that's large enough to park your sloop / brigantine in, and with a large enough exit for either ship to leave without changing direction and with minimal damage. It makes looting the vault quite easy, as you just bring the loot out, rest it on the inner beach within the cave, and if you've parked your ship correctly you can just start harpooning it from there. Easy.
Your spot doesn't work with galleon, mine does. You need to wait on the back of the island and sit on the ocean side of the small shore, line up your harpoon with the cave and then you're able to harpoon the loot rapidly
For Fetchers rest, if your looking at the door of the vault then go right that water channel there you can fit a sloop in for easy loot grabbing from the vault
I just remembered that I had returned after a bit of a hiatus right when Golden Sands was a ghostly haunted place, and the fight for it was just starting up. I'm one of the sorts of players safer seas appeals to (I really just want to grind out a few of the more tedious commendations without having to constantly look over my shoulder, and generally don't enjoy PvP when solo, despite largely playing solo) but I was doing all I could to save the place.
The boat fling glitch at morrow's peak outpost instantly puts in my top 10. I don't like sailing to it but when the game wants me to go there its always fun to do.
Always been a big fan of Sunken Grove. It was my first island I visited. I was on a duo gally with my friend. Plus the waterfall at the bottom makes it so good for screenshots.
My #1 is Thieves Haven. I did most of my Athena max rank work there (back when that meant something) while solo slooping so there's lots of good memories there. I've also had all but one of my Ancient Skeletons spawn there as well. Besides that It just encompasses everything I love about the game on one massive island. It's beautiful, mysterious, dangerous, colorful... Just perfect.
IMO Chicken Isle #1. On a realistic tier list i can understand having a different favorite but I just love how easy it is to recognize, how nice the area it’s in is, its aesthetic, and the chickens and cute artwork
I love Kraken's fall! The kraken skeleton, high ridge, little bays to park a sloop in, and Wilds colours. Wilds colours are lower energy and more relaxed than the glare of the Shores of Plenty, and provide a nice contrast. The greys and greens all go harmoniously and there is less visual clutter. If the whole map was like that it would be too dreary, but one third is just good balance. It's one of my favourite shaped islands too.
You don't need a rowboat for the vault at Kraken's Fall if you are sailing a sloop. A good helmsman can squeeze a sloop right into the little inlet, drop anchor, and then harpoon everything directly to the boat. Plus, it hides your ship "inside" the island.
Krakens fall sucks except for this one thing u can do for ancient vault there as at crooked masts which is close by, if u do a an ancient vault there, it is almost always for krakens fall, plus lots of random loot spawns on crooked masts, and skelly captains spawn there too.
Placing Old Faithful above Kraken's Fall amounts to nothing less than slander !
