I'm still totally confused why this didn't get a 40!! It was OUTSTANDING!! When I heard they were doing the charleston I just knew it would be epic!! I honestly have no words, my winners for sure! ✨️🤩

Love the choreography in this routine with not just basic Charleston steps but also elements of Lindy Hop and Swing. This suited Ellie and Vito so much! Amazing performance! ❤

@@amylouise24xx they will definitely get to the final. However, there's always the issue of people with previous dancing experience doing well on this show. I alongside other fans like it when someone with no previous experience does well on this show. Ellie Vito are no exception. Predictable can be good to some extent, but as the contest progresses we need to get more serious and personally I don't want flukes or sympathy votes. just my opinion. Have a good day

Vito is absolutely hilarious! He’s naturally so funny 0:20 Ellie was thrown around like ragdoll it was insane ! Vito is so hyperactive he’s like the Duracell bunny. The man doesn’t stop. He even talks at 100 mph. He’s too adorable and this partnership is perfection

Have to admit, this is the first dance of theirs that I've liked, but I LOVED this!!
Ellie goes from strength to strength every week. My fave couple. They are a delight to watch. Great job by Vito! Incredible lifts! Like the judges said, it takes complete trust in not only her partner, but a new dancer as well to accomplish that so flawlessly. Well done!

That lift up and around the ankle looks very much like a lift from a boogie woogie championship final. It would have been VERY interesting if they would have done the first! Great routine and nice fringe!! Suits

I Think the Charleston is Elle's dance!
Was so impressive, but think Vito maybe let her down slightly with the choreography.
Ellie's dancing was great, but a few times she was just left standing there. And while the lifts were impressive, I think dropping one or two to show off her dancing could have been great
Vito didn't choreograph it. The Charlestons are done by outside choreographers.
Ellie didn't get a 10-10 coz this was not a traditional charlston. Had they done one, they would have had full house! I think late Len Goodman would have pointed that out.
Nevertheless, the upgraded version of charlston by Vito and Ellie was amazing, full of colour and energy and wowed the viewers at home.

Let’s just put this into context: Craig scored this the same as Angela Rippon’s Charleston 🤦🏻♀️ It’s gotten to the point where if the three judges who are actually dancers are scoring one way and Craig is the minority… You can tell from how he walks on when the judges are announced at the beginning of each show: *he cannot dance.*
Finally someone else who can see that Craig cant dance. 😂

10 from me. Should have been 40. Don't understand why Craig let a tiny detail stop him from giving a 10. After all, it was 'wild' and slightly 'ugly' as he likes it even though he said it wasn't. What was he expecting from her upper body?! They offered something different to the usual Charleston, it had great storytelling and matched the music well. Also, she had "the best cross swivel [Craig's] ever seen in 19 years of the show" so 🤷♀️ The lifts were breathtaking. However, I don't think he dared give her a 10, after not having given Layton one! The backlash would have been deafening! (And rightly so as Layton's deserved a 10 as well).
I used to be mesmerized by Ellie and Vito's performances each week, and I still am, but I do now expect them to turn in a good performance every week. So, I do not get the all-important growth or 'journey" or transformation factor with them that I find so engaging in Annabel's or AnScan's performances, for instance. It could be a problem for them but there are only 3 more shows before the final and I think it will be tricky to knock them off course for the Glitterball now, given their scores and popularity.

My winners for absolute miles!!! This was such a complex routine, you killed it Ellie and Vito! This is a clear 40 to me.
Fairly convinced the judges have decided Layton will win already.
The judges can't decide who wins, since the final results are decided by audience votes alone. That's why the technically best dancers practically never win this show, even though they almost certainly get to the final.
Every week I've noticed when the contestants do brilliantly Craig always gives them 9s he pees me off I hope he's not a judge next year

I didn't find this all that inspired or interesting as a setting. The lifts were great, the performance was good, the timing and all the technicsl stuff was for sure great, but it felt so cliché and... bland as a concept that I lost interest half way through.
I'm sure it was a great dance! It just wasn't for me. I can understand why everyone else likes it! I just don't get the hype is all.
Kind of like I felt about Layton's dance this week. I can see the quality, but it wasn't for me. Some of his earlier dances have been my favourites, and I still hope he gets to stay for the whole journey, but for these past two weeks I just haven't connected with his dancing.
This charleston I've already re-watched twice though, so I don't know, maybe it's just down to our personal taste.
(I don't mean Layton's dance was bland, it definitely wasn't, and I loved the addition of the pole! Just most of what they did on the actual floor went past me without leaving a mark.)
@@durabelle definitely a difference in taste thing. I loved layton this week. But thats just it, opinions are opinions and we all have different favourite dances and couples. I don't mind that you weren't as connected to Layton recently cus it's stupid to be mad over opinions. I'm glad you liked this one even if I couldn't enjoy it properly due to my disconnection to it. Im sure if i give it a few weeks or do ill come back and actually kinda like it. And I'm ok with you not connecting with Laytons dance even if I did because it's all just a matter of dance preference, personal taste and opinions in general.
And I'm glad we can discuss this matter in a civil manner. I'm sure if this were Instagram or something I would have hellfire brought upon me lol.
Makes no sense. “I can understand why everyone else like it” but at the same time “I just don’t get the hype”. People are hyping it up because they liked it. If you get that they like it why are you confused that it’s hyped?
@@goldenwitherphoenix1389 Yep, it's always nice to have discussions that stay on the matter, and don't get too personal. It's also about psychology, saying something positive with the negative makes the whole sound more reasonal.
TH-cam has these lovely pockets where people stay mostly civil, but there's some warzones in here too unfortunately. And of course even the nicer bubbles always have some people who try to pick up a fight, but mostly they get either ignored completely, or get so calm responses that they drop it 😄

Ellie did splendid in my opinion! The lifts scared me! 😮. She was getting proper lobbed around 😂. She brings such joy to her dances which I love, these two are another one of my favourite entertaining couples! I just love watching them, and she is so joyous and smiley! She’s excellent, she puts a real smile on my face
while ellie was being 'lobbed' around, she wasn't doing any dancing!! yes! she was energetic but for me there was a lack of a dance routine! this was not a gymnastics championships!!!

The reason Layton and Nikita didn’t get 40 is because they are marked very harshly because Layton is basically professional dancer as he is a west end preformer
Craig made me so angry this week. That deserved a 40. I was hoping this week to be exciting like last year but no that Grumpy Guy made it so dull. This was just perfection like Layton and Nikita. 10/10

Totally agree- his critique was that she was "ahead of the beat" at some point - I've literally just watched this back like 5 times and I can't see a single time she's out of time, she's totally in time with the music and the other dancers. It's ridiculous, they were so deserving of four 10s!!

Omg!! That was so fantastic. It was so entertaining that I forgot that they were doing the Charleston! T wasn't the traditional but at the same time it was high paced, energetic and they are in sync with each other. What a performance by Vito and Ellie! So many fabulous lifts and the trust between those two is unbelievable!! 10/10
Wow!! Amazing!! As always, awesome!! The storytelling, the character! When Ellie was dancing on her own, she was almost indistinguishable from the other ladies. And she clearly trusts Vito. He was actually throwing her to all the other guys. Free falling without support. Just think if any of those guys didn't catch her. Dammit, if only that one moment wasn't ahead, that would be a 40

I agree with the choreo being wild, but since this is one of the specialty dances it's not Vito's choreo, even though the pros can have some input too.

Ellie and Vito has done it again. Constantly raising the bar for us all. And doing it so flawlessly. For 5 straight weeks Ellie has to continue to give perfection and really become that girl. She just has the overall package. Definite a clear shot to take this whole thing and snatch that glitterball.

Another dance that should have been a 40! Ugh what more can Ellie do aswell, I do typically prefer a more traditional Charleston if im honest but this was mesmerising her lifts were jaw dropping, her energy and synchronisation was so strong, brilliant acting and theming, her swivel was perfect and she extended the line brilliantly. It didn't stop it was so full on and precise. Also, if they don't date after the show then I'm eating Craig's 10 paddle, I swear they are in love the way he looks at her and the way they cuddle eachother 🥺

Twas a bit like the lindy hop. They're my favourite partnership, but this dance shows how important musical choice is in terms of selling a dance. The music was forgettable, the singer sounded bored. I know the experts loved it so what do I know? But just as a viewer who wanted this to be fantastic - I knew this wasn't a routine I'd want to revisit in years to come, via TH-cam.
