- Envision Glasses are AI-powered smartglasses that help people who are blind or have low vision live more independently. This assistive wearable technology uses ChatGPT and Google Glass hardware to capture and convert the visual information around the user into speech. And thanks to more widespread 5G networks, these smartglasses are able to process this information much more quickly, providing a much more seamless experience for visually impaired users. Take a look at how the Envision Glasses work, and how it assists the blind and visually impaired.
Special thanks to Sam Seavey of The Blind Life for his thoughts and experience with the Envision Glasses.

Smartglasses Use ChatGPT To Help The Blind And Visually Impaired | 5G Playbook
I got the same idea and thought its unique once i searched youtube this guys already done it huge love from my side
Finally some knowledge gained from the Internet.. I'm so unfamiliar with this all but very fascinating look forward to checking out "the blind life" 🤘💙
Is this available in India? where I see the demo ? How much cost ?
🌸
It would be cool if you could Bluetooth your AirPods to this or something.
You can do that. Envision Glasses can be paired with blue tooth to other devices, including hearing aids, airpods etc
Hi, I'm Heriyanto from Indonesia...my child has retinoblastoma and his eye needs to be removed...how can I get these glasses?
Is this commercially available now?
it is yes. The glasses are pretty expensive and I'm not sure what they're gonna do once Google glass discontinues the enterprise version of their Google glasses like they're planning on doing, but you could still buy them right now. The ChatGPT stuff was added at a layer date but they've been around for a few years.
Yes! And some insurance reimburse it.
'Be part of corporate surveillance of other people!
Without their consent!'
yeah I'm not a big fan of it either as a blind person. I use some of these apps on the phone and I try never to get people spaces in the shot but it's hard in a crowd. What I'm hoping for is that someday we will have AI that is comparable to this but on device that doesn't need to send anything off to other servers I know that open AI does have policies about this, but of course I'm sure they also have forced arbitration and a clause giving protection from accidental data loss like most of these assholes.
On the other hand, the government and many corporations already have everything they could want on you easily due to lobbying, while this at least is actually helping someone. In the same way that people lift their feet so that people in wheelchairs can get on the bus this could be considered a minor inconvenience especially by the newer generations that seem to not care about their privacy at all. I'm not saying I love that, but it is an argument that can be made.
If disability rights legislation wasn't constantly several years behind, being completely ignored, or never being enforced in the first place, the world might be a lot more accessible by now in which case we wouldn't need shitty Band-Aids like this to paper over all the cracks.
Ultimately I have to do what I have to do in order to survive in this world, make a living for myself, and stay safe. I don't like screwing other people over to do it, but at this point with privacy being a joke I don't think I'm adding much to the problem.

If that's your only takeaway from my entire comment, than I don't see any point in wasting any more of my time with you. You've already clearly come to a preconceived conclusion about people like me, and you're willing to throw away any context or argument that doesn't perfectly align with your extreme bias. How disappointing and unintelligent. I was hoping for an actual conversation, but it looks like you just want to get a snide cheap shot in at the expense of others.
@@superfreq7378 "If that's your only..."
No, but that one part was the one I commented on.
@@superfreq7378 "snide cheap shot"
Nah, that's you projecting.
Plus, if you wanted an exchange you could have........responded to that comment.
And you still could. If you really did want 'a real conversation'.
are you saying 5G is not intended for better WiFi instead it is designed to host A.I only? gotcha

Hey, good story. Quality. A+. Seriously. This is the type of journalism that should be news, not political schlock . Thanks for trying to improve the world. So awesome
ChatGPT on Google Glass
(Google Bard leaves the chat in tears)
This is brilliant application of AI & chatGpt
I’m a visual impaired person I’ve done my research on these classes however my biggest complaint is that they are pricey but I understand why they are so pricey I wish they would just a tad bit cheaper then I would honestly bite the bullet and buy a pair of these, but honestly make my life a easier
Fantastic. This beats Orcam. I wonder if these can be ordered.
Yes they can just Google Envision Glasses and there’s a sale on until the end of the year. You can also get a free demo
Enter a public bathroom and starts reading the most awful things ever written
honestly as weird as it may sound, I would rather know than not. I don't have the glasses because they're freaking expensive, but I do have a similar app on my phone and just knowing the details of a room then I've been in a dozen times and never bothered to examine closely is adding a lot that I didn't even know I was missing. From decorations to potted plants to posters and signs and pictures, they add personality to places. And a lot of those things I wouldn't know about unless I have the time to go touch everything, and in many situations that's not really appropriate anyway.
On the exact opposite end of the spectrum I'm also getting a more big picture of things. Like landscaping designs and wall murals and the color of paths and walls, or even just how buildings look on a street. it opens up an entire dimension that I didn't even bother with before because it was not really available to me. And contrary to popular media, most blind people aren't willing to go around asking sided people for descriptions of things. Partly because we don't even know what we're missing sometimes so we don't know what to ask for, and partly because we don't like owing people things when it already feels like that's how society is set up especially when those people are friends or family, and very few people are willing to accept anything in exchange for helping us. it just feels selfish and indulgent when I can still do most of the things I need to do without knowing those details. But now that I can whip out my phone and get a decent idea of these kinds of things without having to talk to anybody in a matter of seconds and then even ask follow-up questions about those details if I want to, it suddenly doesn't seem so frivolous or unimportant. I now feel like I belong in the world more and have a stronger connection to it in some ways.
We are happy to be able to bring all the new AI technologies in a package which helps people in there day to day lives. We will continue build further on this and keep bringing more useful features for everyone in the blind and low vision community
Hi I am visually impaired significantly in both eyes. How can i buy this pls tell me.
Google glass but improved
how can you make this so quickly after the making of chatgpt, it literally was invented last year !!! Impressive
it's because the glasses actually existed before ChatGPT became popular, and then the feature was added later. they can do a few different things, and before they also had AI but it was much simpler and could only do a limited amount of tasks.
... every aspect of it was long since invented and this glasses are dumb for many reasons as phone is better then slapping over priced glasses when smartphone can do it with fairly cheep applications...
going back to how it was easy to make.
-chat gpt can describe image so describing surroundings is easy
-reading text and translating existed for like over a decade
only thing left is text to speech.....
@@greedier-7661 this is for blind people. phone will not work.
Have fun using a smartphone blind
not really OpenAI apis available for years chatGPT released for public last year only
This is brilliant news 👍👍
This should be able to help those struggling with visions! WOW 😳😳 thanks👏👏💖Hey⁉️ where do we get these glasses please???
They're being sold on the webshop, if you google 'Envision Glasses', you should be able to find it.
Are envision glasses for low vision or completely blind is also ok? Is it still easily used by completely blind?
Hi, we built the glasses for the blind and by virtue of that, they work for anyone.
Thought it was Romesh from the thumbnail 😅
Lol with glasses he does resembles him 😅
Can you give his company name
In what languages it works?Does it include Turkish ?
the Envision Glasses work in over 60 languages including Turkish
There, finally a Good Real World use for the tech!! Keep it going
There were many good real life uses before this your underinformed
Ibwant to buy for my son
Just google Envision Glasses, theres a sale right now.
If only we blind people had the money to buy these
I think it is considered a medical advice and insurance reimburse it.
Yes @@rahrahYonce Envision Glasses are considered a medical device and there are funding options for them around the world
god bless 5g amiright
the speed is impressive (or maybe the delay was not shown here ? )
This is an independent review so no edits to response times made.
This is so amazing!!
Superb
Will the glasses let me ride a horse around the riding arena independently, let me know which direction it is facing so I can get it out of its stall more easily? Could these glasses help me, as a totally blind person, to better train, and care for, my own small miniature horse once I get one because I plan on training a miniature horse to become a guide animal for me rather than the traditional guide dog.
I don't think it's that advanced yet; I think this glasses will let you recognize signs and items in front of you like you normally taking a picture and let the AI analyze it and tells you what's in there. It also can do character recognition and turn it into a speech (and translate if needed). It's useful, but as a normal person, I think it's only slightly more advanced than what Google Lens does (cmiiw, everyone). I'm afraid riding a horse and animal training would be a bit too complex for it at the moment.
But hey, who knows? Maybe in a few years such option might be possible. AI technologies grow so fast lately. Feels like we're starting to feel that kick that will bring us to the futuristic life!
What about battery backup
4-6 hours batter with a recharge in 20-30 mins
That’s cool. I wanna try it. Can I get that in Japan?
Don't Japanese has every tech ?
Naturally the one time i look at a product marketed to the blind after finding stuff about ai glasses and it's 3-4 times more expensive. Love getting milked over having a disability
honestly this is great but the voice would drive me nuts
yeah those are the default Google voices. For something so freaking expensive it would've been nice if they could get better voices on there. Maybe the support for third-party voices just isn't there or none of the voice makers have bothered to make it work with Google glass since the product is not very popular.
coming soon :)@@superfreq7378
Hey,
That is great but why not available in India? I want it for my husband. Even if I can order from abroad, I will have an issue in technical help and troubleshooting.
Is is out for buying? I need it please. Where can I get it
What about be my AI vission
rather you need to release locked technology of restoring natural vision to natural eyes but you have to sell for dollars
Hey, is it a Google glass? That has been launched years ago??
Yes, it is. It has great hardware and even better Envision software running on it.
how ?

I *GUARAN - F’ING - TEE* You that the performance is purposefully hampered and kneecapped severely to ensure you basically are forced to be online !
They stated that the AI was located in the cloud, so I think online connectivity would obviously help rather than being on a hotspot. If what you’re saying was the case, then they wouldn’t let the glasses work offline at all.
I don't believe this.
God can do that wothout technology or unless hes A technocrat too
Hajahajaj no.
Your god can't even prevent children from dying from cancer😂.
Some God
1.what is the point of reading signs if person is unable to see them.. and if he can then jsut use regular glasses
2. If it is for traveling/moving then having camera at the chest /belt etc. would be better as you would have clearer directions and would be closer to the ground so it would better see things close to you.
3. Chat GPT has tendency to lie.... so..... good luck with the bus , or street lights...
4. it would be annoyingly loud in public spaces but to quiet in loud places making it useless
5. Translating text and reading it... just use the phone...
Over all sing reading and translation could more easily be used and developed by having an application in the phone and would be 1000 times cheaper (i am not exaggerating).
As for moving around glasses are bad idea as they are small so their battery life would be limited same with computing power and even loudness of their speakers
Also lastly it probably needs to be connected by bluetooth to your phone either way, so having it in form of glasses sounds dumb
Jesus Christ you ppl just don’t stop. We don’t need anymore things
