    Just cover the raw hook facing inward with a 1" or 2" wide strip of loop without adhesive backing to protect your shirt... easy, cheap, simple

    The QD buckle cummerbund adapter kit for these is very nice. Once I installed that with the QD shoulder buckles I really like this carrier now.

    I had a 3AC a while ago. I had the same frustration with the rear mounting/ sizing. I wound up completely removing the rear mounting Velcro and using shock cord routed through the molle. That worked but the Tegris at the front was still frustrating and wound up going to a SPC cummerbund that I modded for tubes. 🤷🏼‍♂️

      This is the move if you have to have a structured v5.

    Another thing to add as a plus about their rigid cummerbund, is the possibility to add their soft armor ...but for that, one must understand the sizing and how it relates to adding inner bulck

    The free floating velcro portion inside plate bag opening allows the stretch material behind it to stretch more freely.

  • @thatguy_apu
    @thatguy_apu 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    I agree that the 3AC could use some improvement, but to be entirely fair to it, it came out much earlier than a lot of the newer tegris structured cummerbunds like the equinox. Also it 'wears in' a little, the stretch becomes more noticeable and the front tabs do shape to the plate bags a little more once they spend some time under a flap with mags in it. Still couldve been done better in some regards, a closure like the Equinox's would be what would make me forgive all its other flaws

  • @gorps
    @gorps 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I feel so vindicated by you saying the 3AC is not good bc a ton of my friends love the FCPCv5. My first one had something break in it and it stopped being as elastic on the left side, and the second one I got the bund wouldn't fully retract and would get stuck pushing the front platebag off my body. Switched to the SPC and all these problems vanished.

    • @EODFish
      @EODFish  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Interresting to hear another view on this.
      Quick question, how has the rubbery material on the "jpc" like shoulder attachments held up for you, or have you replaced the straps?
      How do you feel the quality is compared to a JPC? Stitching and material feel / durability
      I've not been wildly impressed with mine but I did buy it second hand through a QRF guy who used this as his own PPE, and did apparently only a years worth of training on it.

    • @EODFish
      @EODFish  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      $266 doesn’t get you a cummerbund or shoulder pads (which are a necessity on these straps). You are correct though, I was over simplifying the pricing.

    Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve never been able to understand the admin pouch on the top of pcs or on the back of placards. When plates are installed they are impossible for me to get anything out of them. When I run placards as a chest rig, they work great, but the rigidity of plates makes me feel like I’m a few cards short of a full deck trying to pull anything out of them.
    Edit: $115 for the cummerbund :-0
