Dude just cool stuff !
I mentioned it earlier & say it again - Dire Straits sound, may some other cool band too.
Perfect for a good roadmovie, but a good one !
VERY COOL ✨️🤟✨️
I am 56 years old, semi retired welder......this one really brings me back!!! chili dogs in the barn.......smoking joints behind the pin ball arcade.......cold beer on the patio....you cant forget the road!!!! Rock On Hot Dad!!!!
Songs like this really show you that rap is back.
They are building a dispensary on Banana Road now
i'll meet ya down at the big yellow joint
I can't believe Erik wrote every John Cougar Mellencamp and Bryan Adams song ever.
Fastball songs too
And Tom Petty
back in the mid-90's, my father used to play this on his cassette deck in an old el camino, driving around the city. he told me he was going away, that banana road was calling.
when he left me and my mother, it was hard for us to survive, it was a different time and we didnt have a lot.
now that im older, and im hearing this again, i think dad did the right thing after all. maybe ill see him on banana road some day myself...
Hot Dad's Potassium era is one to be remembered.
my wife and I had our first dance after our wedding to lana del ray's cover of this song, absolute classic really takes me back man
wish i could have been there dancing with you and your wife during your first dance, jeff! 😀
me to, hot dad
Nothing beats the original though!
I don't know how you can write a goofy send-up of a Springsteen or Tom Petty song but then make it sound so authentically earnest and heartfelt that it captures all the emotion and sentiment that you're... making fun of? Anyway I just gotta say I appreciate you a lot and please make a whole album like this so I never have to listen to Future Islands again
This song is proof that good parody comes from a love of the original.
well said. i need to read more books so i can articulate my thoughts lol
This is the comment I wanted to write, you did it better than I could have.
This song single-handedly saved my marriage
Hot Dad is an artist of such power that I find this completely plausible even if you're just goofin.
I remember when I first heard this, it was at Hot Dad's arena show in '83. They tore the old Civic Center down long ago, but I'll always remember that show.
They can never kill the road
Pretty sure it was the Honda Civic Center, correct?
Greatest song about Banana Road that has ever been made. Thank you.
Crazy thing is, the second greatest is pretty wild too:

i can't tell if this is a pisstake on songs like this or genuinely heartfelt and i think that's the point?
The answer is yes.
Hot dad does “love to pee” 😂
For the record I am familiar with Hot Dad, I just think there is a Christmas Pain in Christmas Town situation here where there's some actually compelling stuff going on in the lyrics.
Satire and sincerity are not mutually exclusive. There really is a sweet spot in that gray area!

Big like #79! May the Universe grant you safe passage into the Great Banana Road in the Sky, Amen #blessed #bananaroad #hotdad #chilidogs #help
May this night begin a world of peace!!#Allovertheworld
Watch this be a character in the hypnospace outlaw sequel
That would be dope, hope we get more Clovis lore.
I played this for my grandma and she started singing along, remembering all the words. The 70's wouldn't have been the same if it weren't for Banana Road
Ashamed at how many times I've listened to this song. Trying to relive the good ol' days on Banana Road smh 😔
I busted a gut when you said listening to Milli Vanilli 🤣 You play a mean guitar HD!
steve, thank you so much! really happy to hear you mention that line, because i felt really good about it, and haven't seen anyone else mention it yet. seemed like quite possibly the funniest band to have rock and roll nostalgia about. 😂😂😂
wake up honey, new Clovis lore just dropped
Shed a tear for banana road... but don't forget to shed a smile as well :)
“shed a smile” is a fantastic phrase thank you
and tear a shed

Since I'm a pop music critic and connoisseur, I will explain this song to you plebs. This is a cautionary narrative involving Hot Dad's experience serving in the Vietnam War. "Banana Road" is really Ho Chi Minh Trail and the chili dog represents Nixon.
I always knew Sonic was involved in Watergate!
This sounds hauntingly similar to every single song that plays over the loudspeakers when you’re out shopping.
Bro distilled every heartland rock track into one song.
Banana Road is like a leech that slithered into my brain and began consuming all of my thoughts that did not involve Banana Road. I can no longer think or feel, it’s just the Banana Road! Great tune, Hot Dad! Can’t wait to never stop thinking about it!
I've listened to this four times now and each time the lyrics make less and less sense. It's like one of those AI-generated images designed to simulate what it looks like to have a stroke, where the closer you look the more you realize you can't make out any actual objects. Absolute masterpiece.
ACTIVATING MY NOTIFICATION BELL AND BY THAT I MEAN TO SAY I AM VERY EXCITED FOR THE MUSIC SONG!
New War on Drugs single sounds great.
On the side of Drugs too!
The yard is looking fresh, Hot Dad! Gettin' that good fertilizer out on Banana Road these days.
How could Clovis peel away from Banana Road 😢😢😢
how is this song not top of the billboard charts by now, its been out for 7 hours
Something about "Milli Vanilli on the stereo..." while ICP showing in the background really got me.
These music videos look like a decent way to get some cardio in.
This song is amazing. I really *feel* like I'm there... on Banana Road~
He's done it AGAIN
I followed you like half a decade ago if not longer because "I would die and go to hell if Burger King is what they sell" was funny to me in a way I can't quite explain. And now you're making the greatest Springsteen/Petty/Adams/Mellencamp song that never was.
😅 😊ERIIK, BROTHER THIS IS SO AMAZING AND INSPIRED, I LISTENED ENTIRELY 30 😮😮 TIMES!!!!!!!! BEAUTIFUL SONGWRITING AND INSTRUMENTALS! BIG LIKE #42069 !!!!! 🎉❤❤
Take the field and seize the day The COLTS are here and here to play Feeling proud Feeling strong On the move and going long! Let's go Let's go lets go COLTS! Let's go Let's go COLTS!! Packed with pride up to the hilt The mighty house that Manning built The COLTS are here to heed the call Scoring touchdowns Spike the ball!! Our defense strong and will not yield Our offense soars your fate is sealed We are strong and we are proud Lets go COLTS! Say it loud Let's Go Lets go Lets go COLTS! Let's go Let's go Let's go COLTS!...
Awesome song, Hot Dad knows how to write a damn catchy hook
This is really good. This is REALLY good wow. This is good. It's really really good. This song is incredible. Wow. Good music song.
As some who grew up on Lime Park, I can relate to this.
Eatin chili dogs with Donna in the barn listening to Milli Vanilli…I bet Clovus was so jealous 😅
Still can't believe Clovis forgot about the spirit of Banana Road.
pretty much the best song i ever heard in my life
This is so good, how did I get feels from this comedy legend. Clovis really fucked this band up.
It is CRIMINAL that this only has 15K views.
This sends me back to the days of listening to all the other great hits from John Bananacamp. The nostalgia is hitting hard
BRB showing this to my son and wife
Really takes me back. Thanks for that nostalgia hit, Bro.
TWU toobz!
You could have told me this was a big regional hit from the 80s that I just missed, and I'd believe it.
At several times during the song, I felt a genuine tinge of my own good-ol-days. Only to be pulled right back out upon hearing the next part of the verse (e.g. "got six sons of my own"). Then, of course I have to listen to the song a few more times to enjoy the littler instrumental details. Always a fun listening experience with HD!!
this makes me want to wear a denim vest with a bald eagle holding a banana embroidered on the back
This song makes me nostalgic for things I’ve never experienced.
bouncing on my boi's banana road to this jock jam
We are so fucking back
Real Americana right here. We’re bringing music back 💪
You remain a mystery Hot Dad. I can't take anything away from the musical quality of this but what point you were trying to make will take me years to decipher. Keep it up :D
This song is a journey and I’m glad you took me on it Hot Dad.
This song is so damn good. You rule, Dad.
hot dad continue to outdo himself with incredible listenings and audios for fans across universe 😁🙏✨
I learned to love in Banana road ❤
This is unreasonably good
Reminds me of that time, back in the day, on Banana Road.
My god, this is Markus Krunegard and its brilliant.
This is the modern day "Chattahoochee." Alan Jackson smiling down from heaven.
look at this hotter dad. everytime I do it makes me laugh
I’m thankful for banana road because that’s some of hot dads best memories ❤
I like how he specified they were eating chilli dogs. That's weirdly required for this genre.
lovely song... banana's potassium is really important when hanging out in hot summer weather
I've said since finding your channel: He's funny, but sometimes really does make shit that rocks.
Very happy you channeled Tom Petty's ghost to help you out on this one, Hot Dad.
BIG LIKE 60 I hope the universe smiles upon you every day
Deep in our souls, we all yearn for Banana Road
Why is that sound so good ?
So many Dire Straits Vibes !
Very cool !
Whoa, this song took me all the way back to Banana Road times! I was such a young, restless 48 year old kid back then!
Really like the choreographed group dance, thanks for the nostalgia, HD 👍🏻 I miss Banana Road every day
Really nailing the 1983 Cougar/Springsteen style here!
Thank you for this Hot Dad release from music artist Hot Dad! My summer it has saved.
There's something beautiful about this story
Great work as always
Hot Dad, you’re always in my top 5 artists on Spotify. I like all your songs, my friends do too, they like your synthwave album. From that album they like Summer Camp, but I like Infinite Summer the best. But seriously we love all your songs thank you
Instantly one of my Hot Dad faves, on repeat!
i think this is my favorite song i've heard of yours. GREAT WORK MR. DAD
Sooo good! I wish this song was on Spotify, this is the song of summer 2024!
They don't make music like this anymore. Can't beat classics like Banana Road. 🙏🙏
Another barn chili dog classic, keep it up!!!
I love you so much, HotDad! The chowder lifestyle: Hey, give it a chace!
Some of your best work, keep it up dad
Takes me wayyy back .. to the road
I remember Banana Road
I like the random ICP/Twiztid video just interlaced in there. I guess there's Faygo on Banana Road...
Cheers! ~~~From The HamhockMan of Banana Road
This was just really good and fun. Made me happy ! Especially the part around 4:07
The Boss is back, just like rap is back.
Yet another Hot Dad song to add to my playlists. Thank you Erik for the awesome music
Hot Dad, this is yet another banger. You're on fire!
Big like number eight hundred eighty eight !!!!!!!!
this song was really important to me when it came out
Over a decade on, and just getting better. Insane talent. Thank you Hot Dad, I'll keep buying them on bandcamp as long as you release them
Song of the summer!
Thanks for the good times and laughs, this is a wonderful song.
Don't ever leave your Banana Road.
