Go .020 over. It gives you way more options for pistons vice the stock bore. It only makes you a 349ish and still within the 5.7 range 😉 That’s what I did.
Sorry to hear about your engine. My worry would be What happened to your exhaust valves? Not seated properly? So they are bent? Valve spring bind,push rods too long,over rev? Go get some advice from a machine shop owner & find out that problem. Dropping a valve in your new engine would be catastrophic. Hopefully everything will go great. Keep us all posted. My build is on hold until I can repair a communication problem with my TCM & PCM.

I work on the most advanced trucks that cost between a million to 1.8 million and I don’t have the patience or knowledge to repair factory automotive equipment. Heavy duty trucks are my thing and I’m old school racer. Built hundreds of engines mostly diesels but the all run the same.
