yes bcz here bernoulli equation is applied which states increase in pressure causes decrease in pressure so the velocity on the upside is high bcz the pressure is low, distance has no such role in this
why does the speed of air above the aerofoil increase. this point has not been discussed, only decrease of pressure due to increase of velocity has been mentioned, but the primary source i.e. increase in velocity left unattended. here is the answer. As air flows over the curved upper surface of the airfoil, it has to travel a greater distance than the air flowing beneath the flatter lower surface. to cover greater distance in the same amount of time, it has to increase its speed.
