I saw this movie at a International Film Festival in Auckland, New Zealand and really liked it. It's one of Taiwan's lesser-known movies, but it's a subdued yet fascinating watch. I was sad to hear that Yang had passed away. I went to Eslite to try and buy the DVD but apparently one was never made. I am hopeful that someone will realise that denying this movie a DVD release leaves a great hole in Taiwan's movie landscape.
As a westerner growing up in Taiwan this film was a pleasure to watch! It left me in a profound state of thinking - as does any great work of art such as this.
Very long, but watchable. It had some high points. I guess it was too realistic for my taste, but it was beautiful nonetheless. It is more like a documentary type film. I love the japanese guys voice, Ota or Ato? Yeah, my favorite character in the show. Sublime acting

Vaga luna, che inargenti Composed by Vincenzo Bellini Performed by Hong Manru and Kai-Li Peng
It's not dubbed. The characters speak english in the actual movie because Ota is Japanese and NJ is Chinese. As for the poor syncing... it's youtube, I wouldn't expect super quality
I was so happy when I heard Ota play and sing Sukiyaki on the piano. Awesome moment.
"I want to tell people things they do not know. It will be so much fun!" That was it for me
