This group is literally the beginning of Kpop
i would say that H.o.t took kpop boy bands to a whole new level, but i would say the start of modern kpop was when seo taiji and boys came out.
kpop began in the 70s (not idol groups but individuals), seo taiji created the kpop identity or revolutionised it (by bringing in genres) and HOT was the beginning of hallyu amongst kpop bands (there were popular musicians before the 80s that went overseas non were groups)
What I would have given to see the SM artists reaction to this
It's more like KPop existed already, but the "modern" KPop that we know now was started by Seo Taiji and The Boys around 1992 but at that time, there were KPop groups yet I don't think they were called idols yet until Turbo came out in 1995 and H.O.T. debuted the next year.
Kpop usually means Hallyu(Korea wave) and HOT started it. but if you are talking about Kpop as Korean music it started from way back ago.
This is the song that literally started Kpop when it was featured on MTV Asia Awards. I'm so happy to see them again and Kangta oppa really never age at all. Would be amazing if all members can come together to release an album. H.O.T. forever!
He really didn't age. I don't know H.O.T. very well and only saw Kangta two or three times on Instagram on SM related pictures. Then a few days later I watched a performance of this song from 1997 and I was immediately able to recognize him. He is either a vampire or time traveller, you can't convince me otherwise xD
For those who aren't familiar, they will and always be the best kpop boy band group in history. I mean, I will never expect them to do any comeback reunion but the fact that they did, omg. I cried when they perform this song. I cried because I miss their music but also because I wish was there. Their fan chants were so consistent and loud like how it was when they performed during their debut days. I can't even compare them to any current kpop boy band group because they were always unique and talented. I'm not surprised that they still got it. If they ever consider doing a tour any time soon, best believe I will be one of the first ones to get the tickets. Woohyuk dancing was on point and still hella clean. Kangta voice is still loud and strong. Tony still have a baby face lol. Heejun's extraness is still there lol Jaewun still has the mystery character. OMG, I just can't. I love them so much, I will pick them over any kpop boy band. Hands down.

Only Big Bang(If you can separate the art from the artist),TVXQ and SJ are comparable to H.O.T.
Oh they were the first group who really had the "It" factor. They didn't harmonize much though which I really look for in any group of 3 or more singers but they didn't have to be like that. They had a great look, a great chemistry, 3 good lead singers, a good rapper, and all of them could dance. 2 or 3 of them really good dancers. But vocally I think DBSK is better. They really take harmonizing and singing to another level. In my opinion, Xiah Junsu is a better singer than any of these dudes. But that can never take away with what these guys accomplished from when they came out in the 90s til now.

Exactly, No matter how much cover dance I've seem them idols do this beginning part it just doesn't feel right because they do not put enough Power, Motion, and Hang time with those kicks ^_^
Their energy and stage presence are different. Tbh, I feel the new idols are weak when cover it. Just H.O.T can bring the power and energy of this song. Their powerful hard dance didnt effect their vocal, its so stable. Thats really hard to do. Its just simple AWESOME. Its maybe just because I am big fan of 1st gen idols, but I think just 1st gen idols can do that :D
I think only DBSK and B.A.P. covered H.O.T's songs flawlessly. Shinhwa could cover H.O.T. songs as well, but Shinhwa, like H.O.T. are legends and were closely modeled by H.O.T. in their debut days.
Riana ZeinF lol. To be honest, as an original HOT fan, i do think the new kpop generation is more talented and much more skilled than the first gen idols. BUT, the new school idols can never beat the originality, nostalgia, and magic that the first gen idols created.
This the original! The original legend singing their legend song. No one can beat them, not even the new gen idols. Their energy and stage presence really great. I always hoped to see them perform it again and now my wish came true

Of course there lips singing, but there alot of we are the future live back then, they have also lipsinging, hot did sing live for most of they concert ;) if u see these live type of things is cause is pre recorded performance there no such as things as dance and sing at the same time and sound so well, if u see usually singer is when they part they just sing without singing, and yes hot sound good live,

For me personally, this is H.O.T's best song. There is nobody that can copy the energy that H.O.T has when dancing to this song. No second is wasted, and it's hard to pick a highlight of this song. The opening dance? Jang Woo Hyuk / Moon Hee Jun's solo? Kangta's vocal? Overall hard choreography that is well executed, esp by Tony and Jae Won? Everything is timeless, the theme of the song, the beat, the dance, the music video, even the costumes and hairstyles!
Mine would be this and Outside Castle by them.

he basically robbed them point blank. didn't even really train them before debut yet members earned each only a million dollars during the 5 years they spent as H.O.T. Yet LSM earned hundreds of millions during that 5 years from H.O.T.

the cover versions are all great but finally i can see the original one in the recent time, wow they still got it, the powerfull dance at the beginning, no lip syncing, the dance break, and the song itself, no wonder this is one of the hardest song to perform back then
The fanboys between the audience tho. There's many of them, not just 1 or 2. Its rare to have boy group who have core fan boys. But H.O.T have it. Even with their age that not young anymore, their fan boys keep coming to show their support after those year, 17 years long!

I saw the video of H.O.T fan boy (who now already grown man) for their this upcoming concert. He shown his old stuff just like the girls when shown their old stuff. There's could be the husbands but for sure there's also pure H.O.T fans because H.O.T have many of fan boys as well. Kwang Hee him self told in Totoga 2 that his school mates divided between 2, H.O.T fans and Sechskies fans, and he him self is H.O.T fan.
Just watched the other video of H.O.T concert D.day. Its has the interview with the fans who came to the concert and there's also some of fan boys in the interview (cant say they are boys anymore lol) They also brought their fan stuff like poster and costume. If they are just simple husband I dont think they'll go that far. The male audiences who didnt show much reaction in these IC's video could be the husbands, but them who really happy and enjoying the show to even singing along must be the fans :D

You guys watch IOI or 101 and how the trainers/teachers always talk about how important the CENTER is? Watch Woohyuk in the opening dance (the one in the middle), absolute fucking shows EVERYONE who is boss. His movement is the PERFECTO version and get's you sucked into that dance move (and every high school guy at the time), I haven't seen one modern idol do it properly. That's how you get to be a CENTER in any group, must grab everyone's attention.

Nostalgia......to be honest, I caught the tail end of H.O.T fame when I was young. This brings back some early childhood memories....
maybe one day, TVXQ will return as 5 and perform again.....TVXQ was my childhood up until highschool....still waiting for that day.
Just seeing H.O.T. reunite after all these years gives me some hope for TVXQ, although their situation is worse. I know Xiah Junsu is a huge fanboy of H.O.T... in fact they are the reason he joined SM years ago.
There is like no chance for that. First of all, Changmin always shows how much better he likes TV2Q. Then there is Junsu, who shows 0 interest in reuniting. But, most importantly, Yoochun is a persona non grata and there is no way that SM would ever take him back.
TVXQ doesn't have to become a group again. I would just be satisfied if they even just had a concert. Doesn't have to be under SM entertainment...in fact Id rather SM stay out of it if possible...
And that's even less possible. JYJ cannot perform TVXQ's songs or they will be penalized. Even if Homin ever decides to leave SM (hahaha), JYJ will never have the right to sing their songs. Unless you just want to see them together singing songs of other artists, which would be kind of pointless, but yeah, they'd be together. Still, pigs will fly before Changmin changes his mind, he is quite stubborn.
guess you're not a fan of the original TVXQ. I would be glad if they just got together as 5 again and held a fanmeeting without singing songs. They were a big part of my childhood and adolescence so just being able to see them together would be huge.

The boys were tired and in pain with even just one song in rehearsal but when the concert begins, they give their best for all songs performed on stage. They danced with so much energy, sang with whole heart and did their best to be in sync. They have pain and injuries. Imagine how much they hold themselves to give the whole for the fans who wait for a long time. The day after the concert is Seollal (Korean New Year) which means the fans have to be with their family especially most of them are married but they asked permission from in-laws just to be here because they waited so long for these boys. That night, all of them were back to be teenagers. I know it was a night to be remember forever for them 😢😢😢
