@@Ella_abraxas Sorry for the late response. But Shan is the Gallahans wife who died early on in Florentias life. If you can find the novel I recommend reading the side stories. It doesn't spoil the novel but tells the love story between Shan and Gallahan. For context Shan was a commoner and she was part of this tribe. I can give more spoilers but this is the basic amount of info.

She grew up in this special Southern tribe and had the ability to see the future in her dreams. (Most tribe members had abilities including Florentia but because she is a half-blood she could only use hers once) That is where she sees Gallahan and Florentia. She learns that she is going to die in the future (because of her ability), but she accepts it because she fell in love with Gallahan. Which causes her to leave the village and go find Gallahan. They meet and fall in love causing Gallahan to leave the Lombardi family and live as a commoner. That was until they found out Shan was pregnant and Shan knew she was going to die soon. So, Shan convinced Gallahan to go back to the Lombardi family with their child. Also with Gallahan's disease, he got. She planted the flowers that healed him in the palace garden knowing it was the key to his survival. Shan also knew of Florentias two lives and was proud of her. In the end, Florentia gets her personality from her mother, and Gallahan still loves Shan even after her death. I love this love story because even though Shan knew she would die she still chose to have a family and fall in love.
