After shopping the Mag Mile, A drink at the Signature room's bar atop the John Handcock tower is one of the best sunsets, especially on a crisp clear winter's day.
Best tip i can give is to not rent a car. Anywhere you’d want to go is available for cheaper if you use public transportation or rideshare. Wear comfortable shoes because you will be walking a lot
I'm a local and one museum you didn't list is the Planetarium. It's near the Shedd Aquarium and the Field Museum. They have a lot of exhibits about space travel. If someone really wants to go to Great America it's a good 45 min. to an hour from downtown and it's a bit pricey. If you like roller coasters, it's worth the trip so save up for it.
I took the train into Chicago from Libertyville. Kept the costs down. I did not manage to get to the museum that covers the Great Fire. I think it's a fire department.
Saved a lot of money by staying on the Northside, got a five night stay in December for $363.18 including tax and no hotel fee. Finding a hotel on the Northside of Chicago will be cheaper than downtown.
I suggest referencing neighborhoods, just as you would in London. Major streets are also helpful. Is "southwest" London Westminster, Fulham, Weybridge or all three? IMHO calling Streeterville "north" is like calling Holburn "west", not wrong, but weird. You'll be fine in Streeterville, but expect it to be commuters, transplants and tourists.
If you come here you stay in the loop or the north neighborhoods if your coming here come correct be polite midwest kindness is a thing here people act tough but are actually freindly and for the love of god drive with the traffic not the speed limit u can tell who doesnt drive here
I am planning to visit Chicago in the last week of Dec. Should i expect snowfall? is the cold going to be the same like in NY? can we go around the spots you mentioned during that time?
@@charliegerike-lc8uo - i had visited NY last year at this point of time. we experienced neg 13 degrees Celsius. Hopefully, Chicago will be like that only. Also, do u think we can visit the famous spots then?
Use the CTA because parking can cost up to $75, and more for a special event, DO NOT rent a car. If you want to stay in Chicago, go to the North or South side in Chicago and NOT downtown, unless you are willing to spend an arm and leg, stay near downtown without being in downtown.
I guess don't forget Lower Michigan/Wacker and West Garfield Park. On a related note, the Garfield Park conservatory is super cool. If they have an event (beer under glass) it's worth going.
@@briangilbert6477 I have been to the Garfield Park Conservatory. I'm a local so I took the EL downtown and switched trains to the station right there by the Conservatory. Well worth the trip (from the NW side).
Don't go to Navy Pier. I'd stay at Lincoln Hotel were I visiting Chicago. You want to charter a sailboat, you're likely going to get tossed around otherwise. The purple pig is good, the other restaurant picks are appalling. His pronunciation of Lou's is unconscionable. Definitely head to the Blackhawks and make sure to catch the anthem. Pequad's, Oriole, Ever, Alinea, Next, Rooster, Aviary, Boka, Loyalist, need I continue?
@@TravelGuidesUS I you'd want to go to Great America, you'd need a car. I would think taking an uber all the way out to Gurnee would cost a small fortune.
No comparison to NYC, the fact that there are more people living in NYC doesn’t make Chicago cleaner. Every city is beautiful and you should focus on that. Each city is unique and has so much history, I will be visiting Chicago in a month thank you for the rest of the content.
In Texas we show Migrants these videos, Migrants are impressed with moving to CHICAGO to make their new home. Work and Housing are abundant in CHICAGO!
i always tell people if you're on a budget, buy a hotel room in the north/northwest suburbs of the city and take one of the metra trains into downtown
Great tip! Thank you!

Thank you for the tip! That bar sounds great! I appreciate you watching!
Signature Room recently closed.
Yes I agree Chicago is clean
As someone from the Chicagoland area, I can easily say that our city is very clean compared to most others.
I agree! Growing up here I always thought street sweepers were a normal thing. I guess not.
I agree, sorry to say honestly NY where I live is dirty, my first time visiting I have said the same, Chicago is much cleaner!!
I absolutely love chicago one of the best skylines
It’s a beautiful city for sure! Thank you for watching!
I live in
Chicago
Well i know to park on 87th st...and get on the L...always been the big thing in the chi!!! Now i dont know if its changed but will find out
Don't know about the south side. Often I've seen parking by the EL stations. The one closest to me is multi-levels and is $5 for the whole day.
Man you are the best vacation guide
Thank you! I appreciate it!
❤❤ I love Chicago
Field museum is probably the biggest of the entire planet
Thanks you . Very useful information you give me
You’re welcome! Enjoy chicago!
Great video, thanks!

I agree 100%! Thank you for watching!
Don't rent a car because you shouldn't be drunk driving.
Dont forget about the south side white sox too
The Tennessee Sox?
Thank you for this video!

The one that covers the Great Fire is the Chicago History Museum in Lincoln Park.

Hello, Im from London and I wanted to ask you is upper north Chicago a good place to stay for a week is it safe and what is Streetville like?
I do not know the specific areas of Chicago since I do not live there. But north Chicago is safer for sure than south or west Chicago is
@@TravelGuidesUS Thanks ☺️

Where can I find a decent hotel near downtown & near the train station. Is it good to take train from San antonio to Chicago?
If you come here you stay in the loop or the north neighborhoods if your coming here come correct be polite midwest kindness is a thing here people act tough but are actually freindly and for the love of god drive with the traffic not the speed limit u can tell who doesnt drive here
When you say the Loop, does West Loop fall under this?
slight correction, Wrigley field is just north of downtown, but not the city. it's still within the city itself!
Oh ok thanks for the clarification. Appreciate it. 😃😃
What's the weather like mid April?
Hey! Hard to tell and predict but usually decent during the day but cooler at night. April is typically sees more spring rain
Hit or Miss. if youre by the Lake, can be a lot colder, if your west of Lake, could be fine.
🤷🏾♀️ who knows, just gotta wing it.

lol to anybody who doesn’t know, he was joking. Those are the most dangerous hoods in Chicago.

that's true but also Chicago uses alleyways that huge part of it

Be prepared during your stay in Chicago to expunge from your vocabulary the words please and thank you as you'll never hear them in Chicago.
Who hurt you?
I completely disagree with @user-hk7gt2io1j. I'm a local and I hear it all the time. Depends on the neighborhood I guess.
People are rude
Not my experience
I am sorry to hear that was your experience. I've been a local my whole life and that hasn't been my experience.
Way over rated city and the parking prices are the the reason I would never come back. Everything is outrageously priced
