It was in Negros that the two Filipinos asked an expat to buy them a drink at a province bar, he said no, and they shot him dead. There are many events like this, and they never found the perpetrators.. Good advice..

I would not come to anyone's country and be disrespectful, despite people coming to the US and disrespecting the black community. I am glad that you posted this I do not plan on going to bars in the Philippines, not because I get into situations with others, it will be because I am not at home.

This was a very informative and useful video Jay, as you said, for those that don't already know. It is important for certain people to recognize that their aggressive (and often rude) behavior in the States is something that can get thiem into a lot of trouble and dangerous situations here. In addition to changing their attitudes, it is better to just avoid getting into trouble. Drinking at local bars and losing control, speaking in a loud voice unnecessarily, embarrasing Filipinos in public, and basically thinking that things work the same way here as they do in the U.S. can put you at risk. It is best to put personal pride and ego aside and always keep in mind what can happen to you here.

If you vacation/live in another country, you have to be smart about what you do, what you say, where you go. It will help you stay out of trouble while you are there.

I am a long-time viewer of your channel Jay. Just to add a little bit of context to the topic regarding politics here in PI. I am sure you already know about Nas Daily. He recently took a swipe at the Phil Government in his interview with Jessica Soho. He incited Pinoys to be angry about their government and oh boy they did...the only problem is, Nas was at the receiving end of it. This has happened before the Whang od and Mabulo issues came up. Like what you said, you will never know who is watching.

This is true in many countries. Their values are different than your values. In many countries, they don't have a lot of money but a local might have a lot of respect. If you disrespect them they might feel this justifies violence (or worse). Essentially, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do."
Also, if you are in a tourist area, you aren't REALLY in the Philippines. For example, as a middle-aged, white man, going to Disney during the day is NOT the same as going for a walk in Compton during the night.

You are on point with those "DON"T's". Suggestion, those who don't like to visit the rural, farm or country areas where you live at now, the Provinces might not be for you, especially if you are coming from a city, as it's very basic living there. You not going to have the nightlife like you would have in Manila.

I agree with you Jay, it area rules first. I always have situational awareness. The people in general are good people but you never know what a person is going threw.

If you get in a fight with a Filipino, be prepared to go to jail. A lot of times, the cops will side with the native over the foreigners.

#1 I don't drink to excess t home so I certainly wouldn't get drunk in a foreign country - at all.
Foreigners need to mind their manners.
#2 Save your criticisms for your return home. It's easier to comment from 9000 miles away then to criticize someone on their home turf.
#3 Chin's bout to EXECUTE Canadian drug dealer. Most of Asia/ SE Asia does. Leave your drugs at home fellas.
#4 Don't complain about Filipinos making noise. Stay in Condo far from the noise.

I don't understand why these foreigners do this kind of stuff Jay it's never good to get drunk and start confrontations anywhere yeah foreigners have to be careful here I don't know what it's like here In the province but yeah violence could occur more and people could get away with it respect Filipinos common sense in here in the Philippines is something people need to just get through the days

A few years ago , I almost end up a fight with a traffic police in manila. The traffic officer let the pinoy work in the office cross a small street but he can see I am tourist so he block it. i ask him why you let all these people cross the road not me? we both look at each other in the eye and stand head to toe ready for a fight. I wasnt scare at all, a dog thinking he bully tourist.
