A bit of explanation: pizza crust in Italy is always this thin. Usually you find it on the menu specified if it has higher crust (pizza alta). And yes it was most probably frozen, the lasagna aswell. Since even you guys said that there was a lot of different types of food on the menu they couldn't possibly make them fresh wich means they buy them frozen (btw ew, they're the worst of Italy, no restaurant does that lol. Italian restaurants are known for their fresh ingredients, she's disgusting for using such food).
Now, I don't think that you guys were in danger at all, since owners don't just come at you with a baseball bat if you don't leave (that's rare asf). I also suggest to take a guide with you or maybe if you have an Italian friend to help you understand what's going on, or even just using some sort of translator can work. All the Italian people apologize for the bad food you had to eat 🤧

Just started watching your one star review videos with my husband and we are thoroughly entertained, especially since we also live in southern CA and have been to many places you're trying. Really funny stuff. I thought also maybe I could offer some advice (if anyone else hasn't already suggested this of course), since you mentioned you guys didn't always seem to know why you got the reactions you did when you went to these places. Maybe try dressing down a bit more? No Von Dutch hats, no brand new shoes or clothes, maybe less jewelry and watches, etc. Just dress like normal dudes walking in off the street that would actually be going to a 1 star rated restaurant. I doubt anyone will even care if you're filming at that point. Not that you need to change who you are! Just to kind of, you know, blend in more for when you're out filming for this particular thing. From the perspective of someone who worked in a restaurant, I would have spotted you guys as TH-camrs doing exactly what you're doing, most likely. You have that glow lol. Awesome stuff though, thanks for taking so many hits for us all. 😂

So basically, I’m Italian and that wasn’t even Bolognese. That was the worst looking food I’ve ever saw in my life if I could understand what she was saying I would definitely just tell her that I’m leaving and I’m not paying her like I’m not paying her because she’s just really disrespectful to her customers. I would tell her straight to her face that her food is horrible.

I can imagine many finding a person "testing" the water too in a restaurant lil odd, but even here in Finland,where I can say based on my life long experience living here that YES tap water tastes way fresher and better compared to a bottled store bought(even if that water originates here), it's a big minus from me if the water in a restaurant tastes like it's just been sitting there in a room temperature. Always a good sign when they bring you a decent size water pitcher with lots of fresh ice flowing inside :) water stays cold&fresh till you finish with your food!
