I want origins but the pre 2006 version of the game where the cities had more NPCs and quests and the old class system. However I want changes, I want the cities to keep their old aesthetic but be seamless like the modern game. I want the guild housing and and all the trade instances gone, which are odd as I do not remember them when I played, but I guess they were there? I just remember clicking on a door and it opening and being able to run into the crafting area.... Maybe I'm remembering wrong? The big problem with EQ2 especially post this time is it just became a solo instanced game and the world was dead. However in 2004 people hung out in the cities together.... Though it didn't last as they launched with like 200 servers and everyone quit for WoW and for whatever reason they didn't merge them straight away, so it caused even more people to quit. Also the game is super easy in this version, it was a lot harder in 2004, there was no way you could solo beyond level 13 back then and you could not run away from mobs, if you aggro'd you were dying.
Great video man! I think if you use your EQ knowledge to make a class overview video for new players it would have tons of views. Not only how each one plays but also what they are best at pros/cons.
Thanks for the video and I have something to add: Power (mana) regeneration is important once you get reactions that consume power so you should be drinking _something_ during crafting. In the days of yore you could take damage -- or even die! -- while crafting so food (for health regeneration) was important too.
In regards to saving food and drink you can actually right click your food and drink while its equipped and turn off auto consume so you dont have to unequip it
Thanks, I've been itching for something different to wow to expend my time and this seems to be a great option. Never played EQ2 before so I hope I can enjoy it from next week onward. Too bad it's not possible to test it without a subscription, but I guess that getting one month to explore and see if it's for me or not it's worth.
Great video man. I havent played EQ2 since 2004-2006. I tried returning in the 2010s but the servers were empty and chrono was rampant. This Origins server is a breath of unexpected fresh air and caused me to renew my $15 sub. This video really helped me get acclimated to things I would have otherwise missed. Thank you again and see you in Norrath!
Great video, and we NEED someone with some knowledge to make some new player guides for EQ2, so I hope you keep it up! I do have a couple little additions to your tips - until you buy a house (which is free, but you still need to buy it) you only get 1 Broker slot, but as soon as you get your free inn room then it goes up to 6 broker slots (each slot can hold a container of any size to sell things) Also - Power can become an issue when crafting, so you might want to consider keeping your drink equipped if you have power issues. As a more advanced tip that might only matter at higher levels - the power cost of crafting abilities is based on a percentage of your power, while drink regens a set amount of power, so you'll maintain your power pool better while crafting if you remove any gear that increases your power pool (Strength for fighters, agility for scouts, wisdom for the 2 casting classes)
This is great info as I had no clue what to do in Qeynos at level 10. Lucky for me I got into a good guild and found a consistent group. Cute mode.... LOL I am going to need more macro training. Lvl 10 - 13 Ideas - solo spiders and single mobs in the CAVES or the badgers and turtles in the Fallen ruins while you are LFG in those zones doing quests. The quest from the guard just outside the north city gate of Qeynos is soloable, ( stick to non heroic mobs if you are solo ) regular rats and klick bugs can be found around the auqaduct to the north and regular snakes are around the griffon tower in the south. You can solo on badgers wolves and bugs to the east near Archer woods ( NOTE: Gnolls take over the woods at night ) till you get a group for BlackBurrow.
Hm I think isle of refuge is your ONLY option not sure how you skipped to FP to be honest. Once in isle of refuge you can talk to an NPC at the boat to take you to freeport though.
Love this server. Played EQ2 for a decade and this is the best thing to happen to the player base in a very long time. Great video sephrok keep em coming!
Thanks for this. Coming back after YEARS away. Using that macro is awesome, but i cannot get it to work on the question marks. It will target it, but it will not grab them. Works on all harvesting though, so its still nice!
Tried this for a few days and while i was having a blast i made it to level 9. The amount of Xp you get is so bad. I love grinding but all the trash mobs outside of Antonica give like 0.5% xp and i can't solo a level 9 or 10 heroic which is sad. I totally get this will bring alot of memories back to some older players but it's just not for me. I do know some classes can solo easily (i think) but if you never played back in the day, this is more a heads up.
Thank you so very much. This is bringing back soooo many good memories. There's details here that I would not have remembered; collection quests and how to change and move the hot-bars. Great job! ❤
That harvest macro is literally no different than left clicking the harvest node several times... Man that pack cost is a bit steep but nice vid though..
Great job! some very helpful tips here. I'm looking forward to more videos from you :)
Thanks dude. Virtually furst time checking out EQ2 outside of launch month many moons ago. Thanks for the tips!
this looks pretty good, i might check it out thanks!

If you are competing for a node I can tell you with 100% certainty the macro is faster and more accurate than right clicking.
