Nicely done, Nick and Adam. Nick, this series is great. Looking forward to future installments. Agree with recording yourself to improve, but darn it's that old line "What does kill you, makes you stronger", but it still is painful.
Finding ways to incorporate more rhythmic diversity in students' playing has always been a challenge for me. Similar to what Adam said, I have to find a sort of "Goldilocks filter" where they are challenged without being overwhelmed. Sometimes I use percussion books to supply the rhythm and then slowly include more note choices (roots, then 3rds, 7th's etc.)
