the difference of UFC and WWE is that UFC is a sport of professional fighter and the WWE is a sport about wrestling and the main purpose of WWE is to entertain children around the world

For some reason people OUTSIDE of wrestling like John Cena. He seems to do well in interviews like this. People want to interview him.
Strangely, the only people who boo him are the WWE fans themselves. I cannot seem to solve the puzzle.

@Ra3D I see where you're coming from, however being allowed to use your elbows shows more of a diversity to the ground and pound technique. The defender has mroe to wrory about other than just the fists. However it is quite deadly, the damage elbows can do are insane so i can see where you're coming from.

Whoever thought up WM25 being the 25th anniversary of WM obviously doesn't understand the premise of an anniversary. WM2 was first anniversary of WM, WM25 was twenty-fourth anniversary, and WM26 was twenty-fifth anniversary.

he wouldn't have what it takes just from the way he talks about mma. when he says it's 2 guys fighting for their life he couldn't be more wrong. i know he is physically capable of working hard and winning fights but his out look on it alone would hold him back. it's not for everyone and i still have a ton of respect for the man.

@Hitmonchan107 No idea what this 'picture' is you speak of, but Cena is still around because he is the biggest star in the WWE (biggest fanbase) atm and will be for a long time - notice that Cena is not aggresively chasing the WWE title as he usually does, at the moment and instead the WWE are letting younger guys (THE MIZ) have a go at the title scene - and putting over newer superstars like Wade Barrett and Nexus. The WWE are NOT focusing on CENA - but focusing on their product!!

@egrojodnamra actually mainly the wrestlers themselves do, of course they sit down with the board that handles the storyline aspect of wwe and they look over whos more popular, and how else could we make a feud out of it(bring in another wrestler, for a title, etc)

...He is succesfull, nobody can deny that. Look at how much wrestlers tried to make it in MMA and then count those who were succesfull by doing it. Lesnar is the first since Takahashi (shamrock doesn't count, he was a fighter before he was a wrestler). Before when people didn't train the way they do now, wrestlers had a chance.
In ufc kicks to the head aren't banned, stomping is banned therefor they are alowed to elbow at any phase of the fight.

John Cena is a powerhouse because he's put on a lot more muscle mass for a guy his size. That never works in fighting. He'd have to shed a lot of muscle to even think about lasting more than a minute in the cage.
And he has nothing to suggest that he could be a brilliant fighter. Brock was a Division-I wrestling champion.

@capablemachine yeah you're right. it's so much more heroic to lift weights, do steroids, and rehearse fake throws only to be out in a pre-known win or loss. UFC, WEC, and any other form of MMA will actually teach you how to fight. WWE shows you how to rub fake blood on your face and hit each other in the small of your back with a steel chair (which doesn't actually hurt

@rudyleon69 could you either list those 10 reasons or send me a link to them or something? Cause honestly, I don't see any reason a member of the "talent" could be anything more than an accessory to why the company has gone so far downhill. As far as I'm concerned the entire thing lies in the lap of Stephanie McMahon-Levesque, doing a piss-poor job at filling her daddies' shoes.
Don't get me wrong here, I'm not trying to say that Cena is all that, I'm simply unbiased in this matter about Cena.

Ken Shamrock was a fighter before he got into wrestling and Brock Lesnar was a really good mat wrestler. Neither of the two had any interest in wrestling until the WWE threw some money at them, and with Ken Shamrock it was more of a joint venture between the UFC and the WWE. At the time Ken began wrestling, the UFC was just barely off the ground and so having him wrestle was good for exposure.

UFC and Pro Wrestling are two entire diff things altogether and I'm not just talking about what's real and what isn't but the fact of what their job consist of. In pro wrestling your job consist of acting and stunts in the UFC your job consist of endurance and accuracy. Very few mma fighters or pro wrestlers can cross over from pro wrestling to MMA or MMA to pro wrestling and be successful at it. The only two men that had been really successful crossing over into either was Shamrock and Lesnar

i think you used bad examples with BJ GSP and randy as they are/were very confident in their martial arts and they talk like tough guys. cena is very humble and just the fact that he is completely closed minded towards the idea of an mma fight says to me that he would have to have a totally different personality to even consider training mma. and don't try comparing cena to brock, brock is a highly decorated collegiate wrestler and NCAA champion.

  • @TurquoiseTheoryProds
    @TurquoiseTheoryProds 13 ปีที่แล้ว

Don't hate on Cena man. I don't think he's as bad as most people think. Skills, showmanship, popularity, etc are all subjective. It's just that he has to do what WWE asked him to, and that's to become the popular face of WWE. If he had a choice, perhaps he would go for the ghetto gimick again. I mean, c'mon, every man knows wearing black armbands and walking down that aisle with confidence is better than wearing purple and sucking up to the crowd. It's all about business and Cena has to do it.

If they stepped in tomorrow. You are most likely right. If however they stepped in after a year or more of training MMA then they might do alright. It depends on how quickly the can learn and how good at fighting they really are.
Pro Wrestlers are often athletic. They have good work ethics. Quite a few of them wrestled growing up. They may not all have been National Champions or whatever, but neither were some of the top wrestlers in the UFC.
