Skiing Shiga Kogen, Japan: Mountains, Snow Monkeys, and Onsen

We spent a few days near Nagano skiing the amazing Shiga Kogen, part of 18 different interconnected ski mountains, making it the largest combined ski area in Japan. This location was made famous by the 1998 Nagano Olympics. Great snow, a wonderful stay at the traditional Hotel Higashidate in Hoppo Onsen, a visit to the famous snow monkeys, and lots of dips in the onsen made this trip one we will never forget.
