The weakest point on almost all large backpacks is the shoulder straps. They make them too narrow and the padding is too soft. If they would make them as wide as the large molle 2 and a little firmer they would carry so much better.

i really like that he admits that his opinions have changed alot of people who served some time ago get really caught up on what they used to use and it shows in their videos .
not him im glad he gave a fair breakdown

The rain fly is captive so that it cant blow away in a storm. Sometimes the wind can catch them and blow them away

Definitely would like to see a direct comparison with the ILBE. I suspect ILBE can accommodate more gear. Would also be interested in your assessment of each pack on training hikes with identical loads. (Maybe in the winter when the heat and humidity eases up a bit).

It is like A ilbe gen 3 I just wished that top lid came off It definitely has some of the DNA from the ilbe gen 2

Hello sir, informative video as always. I just wanted to let you know I found your channel about six months ago and realized I hadn't watched a video from you for over a month. I then went looking for your channel and saw that I had been unsubscribed. Hopefully this hasn't been happening to others.

Video Idea Renaissance Marine: do a video of how you would modify and configure the old Alice pack to make it more modern. Wow, EBERLESTOCK is way better than our old Alice packs (which I am still using) that only cost me about $60. I will keep a eye out if one of these bad boys ever comes available. I just can't afford $530 for a pack.

Never realized how similar this was with the ILBE until you mentioned it. I’ve had some Eberlestock packs in the past but I ended up selling them all. They were super comfortable to carry. Really dispersed the weight well. But they always seemed smaller than what they advertised the size as. I have a PLCE Bergen that is 100 liters (120 with the side rocket pouches) and it seems huge compared to this “90” liter pack. Keep up the great videos!

yeah i am really excited to do a head to head with the ILBE. i havent had the two packs in the same room but i want to say the ILBE is larger. but it only advertises a 75 liter capacity.

The suspension and stays are just like the army cfp90 only improved. Looks like a more modernized version. How much does it weigh empty?

8 LBS 12 OZ is the company numbers. i have misplaced my scale again or i would have weighed it. i plan on weighing it when i do the matchup with the ILBE.

I think the aluminum bars shoved in there wrong or upside down whatever. Bars should bend backward above your head.

thats exactly what i first thought. but i watched some of the eberlestock videos and saw that is how they went.

@renaissancemarinetv3536 think you got it wrong, sir. I definitely can tell bars shoved in there wrong. You gotta take em out and put em on your back and adjust em. I think simply the bars placed in there wrong side.
I have been using this bag for long time. This is my go bag for winter camping. When I got this bag I tried to bend bars away from my head and accidentally broke it so I had to order extra aluminum bars from Eberlestock. They use very flexible aluminum bars unlike the ones from ILBE which is almost impossible to bend.

based on your comments ive gone and watched several videos on this pack and i think you might be right. i will see if i cant turn them around. i am loathe to try and bend them. thanks!@@militarygearjunkie2522
