Your camera set-up on the front windshield really does remind me of the good old Top Gear days :) The tan interior from the best era of car making also helps, of course.
i wish more people understood how impressive this is. I also wish my peers would understand that not all stereotypes are true with these cars. Cant wait to own one. cheers mate
The dream has been illustrated, just how I want my future to be like, owning a Sport GTS or an automatica, heading down to Germany, Nordscheife, like a kid at christmas!!
Miles for smiles mate, you got a bargain there. Taking out the centre resonator and putting in an x pipe was the best mod i did to my 4200. Incredible sound. I miss it. Forgot to add, my c63 4.0 on the motorway will do 39 mpg on a run.
That’s interesting to hear Nick, you can’t ask more for a thunderous V8 to do nearly 40mpg! The best I got in my W204 6.2 C63 was around 32.2mpg, but I know I could get a little more from it if I tried hard enough! 😆
@NathanMannin I was hoping for low 30's, I do a LONG return trip to work, around 4-5 times a month. Couldn't believe what I was seeing on the trip computer and the actual maths work out aswell. Unfortunately not been able to drive it that much in the last 4 months, but its a beast. Not quite a 6.2, but that I couldn't justify on a 270 mile + return trip, especially as I'd want a good example. I used to get similar mpg from a 5.0 Lexus RCF aswell. Amazing both cars really. Noise, power and refinement, yet economical if you don't press on and just cruise.
Great video Joel, your enthusiasm and personality shine through which makes everything totally relatable! You would have made a great Top Gear presenter and for me you fill that gap! Cheers from NZ!
Normally find Nurburgring videos boring, but your commentary on the way round the track was fantastic, actually describing what was happening, where on the track you were, how you were approaching it. Loved it!
I knew I was going to love this one! Turns out the Maserati really was a great purchase, at least from my perspective as a viewer! Can’t believe how good it sounds…
Hey Joel, an absolutely joyous video to see such a petrolhead on such a trip! I wonder whether you might consider making a short video about how you planned your trip to the Nordshleife. It’s certainly on my bucket list, and I’m sure many other of your subscribers. I know these things get out of date quickly, but it could include things like: - Dates & times ordinary drivers can use the track - costs & how to pay for the laps - other options, eg Ring Taxi - Route to the venue Just an idea! Love your content! Keep up the great work!😊
Did my first ring trip literally a year a go, and I totally agree that if you're a petrolhead you need to drive on an autobahn. I took a e90 325i and managed to take it up to 150. I managed to get back on one tank without even trying, it was such a good car for it! Loved this video mate, can't believe how well the car did!
How lovely to see a fellow car nut truly discovering the lure of italian cars .. in pretty much real time! Great to watch! ❤ I started following your channel driving a Bmw Z4M Coupe, now a Giulia Quadrifoglio. 😎🇮🇹
Another awesome adventure, Joel. Your genuine passion and enthusiasm are infectious, so fun to watch. Hope you enjoyed the trip, I certainly enjoyed coming along!
Ah Joel, what a fantastic video! I am beyond elated it all worked out in the end, I never had doubts your car would be frugal, but the fact you did some high speed runs and maintained that MPG is highly impressive! Albeit inside I was like “NO JOEL, THE FUEL CONSUMPTION” It seems your Maserati mirrors my 6.2 C63 a lot when cruising; with mine averaging around 32mpg on a long run. It really just goes to show a change of driving style makes all the difference! Long live the V8! 😉 On a side note, I’d love to find out which of ours is more efficient! 😉
The paradox of this car with the ZF gearbox - it can be surprisingly fuel-efficient. However bear in mind insurance + maintenance + £735 yearly VED that can turn the cheap Maserati into an expensive ownership experience.
You know what Joel, I was one of the ones calling for you to get rid of this car. I apologise. So glad you kept it. Awesome video and I want one of these beasts now! :) Another great adventure!
Drove a PORSCHE Carrera S that I leased for the day at the PORSCHE Museum two years ago. Driving on the AUTOBAHN at 150mph (for about 2 seconds) was a life experience. The German roads are so smooth and well maintained.🇩🇪
Great video Joel. I do love that car and the interior is superb, apart from the ‘sticky buttons’ around the display, some Isopropyl alcohol on a soft cloth should get that back to new. Thanks so much for your all your hard work, you’re a natural in front of the camera.
What a lovely QP Joel, that colour with the contrasting crema leather, just fab. It's such a unique, characterful motor, your video clevely shows the dual nature of the QP. Sumptious motorway cruiser or track day funster, you decide! How about an ultra economy challenge, London up to the NC500 and back?

I stand corrected Joel. Tidy job. I came out of Karousel sideways in the wrong direction, collected it (just) and said that next time Sabine could try to scare me. Sadly she's playing with the Greats, Misha could invite me, though!
It looks like you have done a fantastic job building or fixing up your Maserati, and that deserves a massive pat on the back. But does this Maserati model really need a quicksilver exhaust package?
Not a chance! I did the 'Ring from South Wales in Dec 1994 in a 2.0 Granada Scorpio manual. We went via Belgium (flat out except around Brussels) with a smaller tank (75l) and refueled after our lap. The trip home wasn't as economical, but there was 500kg of wine in the car (including glass). Computer is probably Olivetti!
You could have done easily done 140 mph to the garage on to the hogs back off the BVR or more easily from the Shepard and flock roundabout especially at the time In the morning,no need for German autobahn for a high speed run , not that I done that in a diesel,😊 it’s nice to get a coffee quick early in the morning 😂 but a great video and amazing fuel economy from that Ferrari engine car ,
I enjoyed the video; you do like a car with a broken driver's window and sagging headlining! (Did I miss the episode where the issue with the seller and the engine were fixed?)
@@itsjoel yes dude you definitely should. I personally prefer the cayenne to the Maserati even though it's stunning! Be good to do a 1 year review of it or even almost a year review and how you've found it as a daily driver, the reliability, the rough cost of fuel ect... I'm interested in buying a cayenne V6 like yours but found something slightly cheaper to buy. Nissan Murano 3.5 V6 230bhp (same engine block what's on the 350z) the sound beautiful, apparently really reliable cars and as they are a few hundred kg lighter that the cayenne might be a bit more nimble. The CVT gearboxes are literally the only downside to them. But owners really rate these cars. Unfortunately though like the V6 cayenne terrible mpg. Around 16mph ISH around town. Can pick them up for under 2k. Have seen so many V6 Cayennes got 2k though so I don't know what to do. The cayenne makes a lovely noise doesn't it!
