Thank you very much this has been handy. My extenders just arrived and I assumed I should drill the hole bigger but I just needed it confirmed 👍🏻

MT Trucks use an HPI specific 12mm wheel hub adaptor with a small circular but which fits into the wheel. All aftermarket ones, including the extenders don’t have this so will not work properly on MT or Rush trucks.
Also the axles are known to be weak. If you think about it, there is a hole for the pin right through a 4mm shaft so the actual strength is down to 1mm each side of the pin. Not enough for the wheel size.

Hi, I got some of these today and installed them using the pins which were already holding the old hex on, is there a benefit of using the ones suppied as i couldn't get these through the hole as they were a bigger diameter Thanks! :)

No, if your originals are ok you can certainly use those. Sometime the diameter of the pins supplied in the kit is larger that required

I might try the links you’ve shared. I bought a set of flea bay and they don’t seem to hold in place. I think the slot for the axel pin isn’t cut deep enough so no matter how much I tighten the nut, the pin always comes flying out causing the tyre to come off (tried it on a TT01e Tamiya - went around a corner and got overtaken by my own rear left tyre 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️😂)
Ps great tip about the size of the drill to use. Great video mate 👍

No worries. If you have a round needle file, the extenders are made from aluminium so the slot for the pin can be filed out to be slightly wider/deeper if required.

Hello ive got a 1/10 scale nitro truck and it has seemed to have lost alot of compression. I can hear the air escaping from the head so i think its coming out by the glowplug. I think it might be the headgasket but you seem to know loads about these engines and I was wandering if you know what it might be? Thanks!

Hello. There are a couple of things to check. Firstly have you run the car without an air filter ? If so you may as well bin the engine as even the smallest amount of grit or dirt will wreck the engine.
Assuming you have. Filter in place you could check the following.
      1. Make sure the head bolts are tight. The gasket is unlikely to fail. I have never seen one fail.
      2. Make sure the plug has the copper washer on to to ensure a good seal with the head.
      3. If that doesn’t work take the Hess off and make sure the barrel hasn’t rotated. - yes it can happen. I have seen it a few times!
After that if it still doesn’t run
Properly and has no compression it probably needs to be changed.
Hope that helps. If you let me know which engine you have I may be able to help further?

@@RCScrapyard Thankyou! I’ll let you know later on if I find anything else out- I’m going to try to take it for a run tomorrow 👍

hey man I have a ke 21 sp engine from a kyosho inferno st and it needs a rebuild and I was wondering if you could cover a rebuild on your channel.
    many thanks

Hello. I don’t have one of those engines to rebuild at the moment but it is very similar to all standard nitro engines. Here is a link to one of my other videos which shows you how to strip and rebuild a nitro engine. Your engine will be almost the same.

Id suggest to be careful with adding the wheel extensions to MT trucks with larger wheels. Just had 3 axle stubs break in 3 different runs on very soft roll overs. Im running 5.3" duratrax stakker tires so id feel very confident for using these on oneoad touring cars or drift cars. Just not the big chunky tires.
