It's funny how this has been dubbed shake to wake, when it's actually designed to detect the acceleration of the throw and turn on the motor after it leaves your hand. Must be the most misused feature in any autopilot.
yes but it gives you some assurance that the motor is spinning before throw ur precious craft into the air and hope for the best that its not going to hug the land ! :)

Does that mean I need to have my laptop with me to record a takeoff point? Or will it go based on GPS lock?
no you dont need to take your laptop , once the gps locks it will reset the home to where ever you are and set the take off parameters accordingly! :)
