Hello! Please help, I am trying to setup my new PC to run Batocera off of a USB drive, but have all of my roms come from my internal SSD. I can get Batocera installed no problem, but cant figure out how to have the internal Drive show up in the files section or figure out a way to load them without copying the roms to the USB drive. PLEASE HELP, this is driving me nuts and cant find a solution.
I am planning to do this but my Batocera System is going to access the NAS storage over Wifi. Do you think it's going to impact game performance especially for GameCube and WiiU games? I am unable to find any answers online. My network read speed over wifi is around 12 mb per second. Will this be good enough to load games from NAS. Also I am planning on sharing my entire Share partition so that all my Batocera Systems stay in sync ( I have 3 Batocera systems). A reply will be highly appreciated. Thanks.
I've just set up Batocera 38 to run roms from my Synology NAS (Thanks for the great instructions). I now want to install N64 HD textures and also store them on them on the NAS. Is this possible?
great tutorial!!! is it possible to have both internal and network sharedevice? the reason I ask is i like to take my batocera to my friends house to play but for my larger roms like PS2/Xbox would like to have on my NAS.
Thank you so much! Is there a way to have rom folders on both the internal storage and a network drive, or on 2 network drives simultaneously? I have a large collection and not all my roms fit in 1 roms folder on just one drive.
I tried it using an external hard drive hooked to Nvidia Shield TV Pro. It worked but it was too slow. I guess I will need to get an actual NAS. I hope in the future versions of Batocera, they will integrate this feature in the UI.
Great video! I’ve been considering a NAS. So by having access to that roms folder it also access the media directory for scraped media? Or would we need to add both directories in the network share line?
I have a SYNOLOGY NAS and cant make it work, I can see the path and files in the batocera explorer when i press F1 but when I add the line in the boot.conf nothing. I am trying with NFS.
Cool, I think I might do this, thanks. Can you do a Kodi tutorial? I have Kodi setup pretty well for tv and movies but I want a remote like Wichip remote you can find on Amazon I just don’t know if it’ll work with a pc and batocera especially the power button on it. Also unfortunately I can’t get internet archive game launcher to work on Kodi I believe because batocera and rar archive support.
What skin are you using (at the beginning that's showcasing your PS3)? I've experimented with a few but not seen anything that looks like this. Also, I have set a custom script to load my network share post the VPN connection. Do you know of an internal command that can be run to reload the games list (instead of having to do a manual update via the Batocera GUI). Minor inconvenience but thought I would ask the guru on this. Love ya channel.
Any way to switch between NETWORK and INTERNAL for the ROM path using the User Interface (UI)? Wiki references doing so for external storage, but not networked storage. Would like to source ROMs from NAS when within my home network, but change to internal (default) directory when away from home. Could edit the boot.conf to switch, but it would be much easier if it can be done via the UI. Merry New Year.

I tried to browse the SMB share within KODI application, inside batocera and it works properly (username and password are required thou, because It is configured like that in my NAS). I am using ROCKSTOR as NAS operating system. Please help me, thank you!
