Yes, he was first known in small metal circles only, after that the band became kinda mainstream but still it was not played in the radio, even if they. had top 1 singles list position, still no radio play. Pop fans became to know them since they headlined biggest summer festivals in here basicly every year. They were also constantly the most toured band abroad in the whole country, but media didnt acknoledge that at all, which is a shame. When he died, he was in the news for a couple of days, but no big honours, statues made or anything, like many other artists have gotten. Basicly no respect from the country itself, which is a shame. The top lead of the goverment never acknoledged him or awarded him in any way. Ville valo from HIM got the invitation to the presidents ball, but alexi didnt. Metal still is kinda stigmatized in here, but, we dont have a metal scene anymore because a big part of it died when alexi died. Its sad but our metal scene was basicly build upon him.
