- Brandon and I took a long drive out to Indiana, we picked up Dirt Perfect, this Cat D4G, His Harley Rake, and The Man Behind the Scenes! Together the three of them picked on me the entire time, but that's okay, our yard is just swale now! In this video, part 1 or 2 we get the dozer to PA and start roughing in the yard and finish out the day by building the retaining wall.

barry hansen we do! And we are! Had a massive downpour last week. Washed a lot of the grass seed away but the dirt was dry about a foot or so off the house in the back and never had a chance at even crossing the driveway. Very pleased with the results!

Live your life and not someone else's life and don't worry about how they think of you. As long as you are happy and comfortable with how you feel about yourself, then it's easy to sleep at night.

We all start somewhere and it is not easy without a someone or sometimes a few someones. I had my someone when I built. I was a good mechanic and the guys working on my project all wore different hats but they made it work and they all drove good rigs when I was done. I was their gofer and also had a few dollars so things came my way fast but I waited till I was forty five to make roots and it was another year by before I got going but if your belly is full it makes a difference on what you can do.

OK, I started with DP's video, then MBTS's, and now yours. What a supremely well done job.
Question that I have is: did it alleviate the flooding and runoff from the fancy subdivision?
Indeed. It was a breath of fresh air for sure! And yes, it did as a matter matter of fact. Between the grading work and the drain system full tilt grading helped me out in not a single drop of water inside and we had some serious rainfall after it was done.

Logger Wade that’s cause it was declawed at a young age. Despised it’s parents because of it. The anger and frustration must have compounded yearly like the interest on a mortgage. Next thing you know bam there’s the pushing power of a small village worth of misspent youth built up and let go in your face.

You could call the electric utility one more time and mention the words "life safety". If you don't get to talk to someone in authority insist on a 30-minute call back from someone who can resolve the problem.
I make notes with names, and employee numbers, dates and times. There was a city building department manager who met me on site in 15 minutes after I told him that if a kid was killed when the newspaper reporter asks me about it I was going to give him the manager's name. No one ever saw a permit go from "no" to "it's at the front desk. Please come pick it up," in the space of 45 minutes. 😉
Is the strand below electric, cable TV?
If another try with the electric utility gets you nothing, Call the CATV safety manager. I got an immediate scene response one day by asking, "if one of your technicians was just electrocuted who there at the cable company would want to know about that? It hasn't happened yet. But put them on the phone." I got the top of the food chain in about 5 minutes.
In your case I would express my concerns to the cable company safety manager, and explain how you have tried to get the electric utility to stop their slack span from contacting the cable company's plant - but the electric utility has taken no interest. They will have a peer at the electric utility and I wouldn't be surprised if a crew showed up within the hour.

J Britt it might be, it would depend on the trailer. I’m registered to 42,500 and the trucks about 9,000 by itself. Doesn’t leave much for a trailer stout enough to move it

J Britt yeah the d4 is about 18,500 give or take. We crossed over wades scales when we went back to derby at 38,500. All things considered it wasn’t a bad trip, 6.8mpg sucked. Had no issues with power or anything just a little bouncy in rough roads.

Keith L sure do haha! we had a few options on the table for this, but this was the most cost effective and had the highest likeliness of working the way we needed it to while remaining low maintenance for future owners to come. The house should ( fingers crossed ) be on the market in the next two or three weeks. I couldn't sleep at night if I listed it without correcting these water issues, it caused many nightmares for us, and I can't pass that on to someone else disclosed or not. thanks for the kind wishes! and for watching along!

you proved it with your trench bucket 5 ft long, much thinner, much stiffer, and no bend
that v bucket way to thin gauge steel for prying stumps, take two old forks, weld them together and use them for prying you will never bend them. the farther you get them under the stump, or con creat the less preasure you have to use, easy on the implament, easy on the machine.
Roger buddy, my man, the proper name for that V-bucket is a stump bucket....you know, for stumps. You’ll get it, just give it some time.

Dan Severn I’ll see your serious comment and I’ll raise you one serious reply. I’ve been feeling exactly the same as you’re describing for quite some time now. But I’ve realized that almost all the negativity, violence, and depressing bullshit that is shoved in front of us every day is just that. Shoved in front of us. I’ll keep my tin foil hat off for a little while longer and go on to say that great people are still great. They’re just busy being great so they don’t have time to go about and try to get on the news, and even when they do they aren’t shown but that’s no fault of the great people or any proof that their are any less of them, they just aren’t as loud right now. Don’t loose sight of that. The people I enjoy seeing and talking to on a daily basis haven’t gone anywhere. Yes the mood of the country is a little more reserved at the moment but it can’t last forever. I try to do my part, say please and thank you. Hold the door open for someone when I can, smile and say hello, and ask how someone’s day is going. Best you can do anymore and it helps. What kind of bucket was on case skid steer never seen one before
Richard Hedrick stump bucket, suppose to be able to get under the stumps and have a small contact area so it applies more leverage to lifting the stump than digging a hole, the sides are serrated so it can cut the roots that’s why you stab it in and out a bunch before you try to lift it out. All in all it beats trying to do it with a regular bucket but it’s no miracle worker.

A good or great thing would have been an excavator or at least a back for the tree stumps! That pointed attachment on the skid steer was useless! That definitely was not the Dirt Perfect we usually see.

Dangit, you drove right by my house and you didn't even beep!!! If you were on the PA turnpike, you were literally 3 miles away. If you were on 80 then you were about 30 miles. LOL How do you like that stump bucket? I haven't convinced myself to build one yet, I finally got that new Kubota SVL95-2S I was talking to you about a while ago, It's a nice machine, but it doesn't have the curl hydraulic force my old Gehl had. Not sure how it would do with one of those stump buckets.
Badgermatt75 2016 I did too beep. Twice as a matter of fact. You didn’t wave! Stump bucket was okay at best. We’re not sure if it was the fault of the bucket, the operator(yours truly- probably), or the case skid steer. I gave it to Michelle though so he’s going to try it on his kubota and should be able to let you know for sure! How do you like the machine otherwise?
@@JasonWorksAlot It's not bad, It's my first track loader. I bought an MTL XC8T mower for it that rocks. I can whack 10" trees. I made a grapple bucket for it and I love that too. The loader has great power, just the curl seems weak to me.

The left over concrete on the trucks when they come back to the yard. Usually called stackable concrete blocks. If you call the plants just ask if they sell the 2x2x6 stackable concrete blocks. Around here prices vary place to place but expect to pay about 35-60$ a block, can us usually get 2x2x3 blocks as well. The first place I got them from also had 2x2x4

Mark Shark yeah, and I had it booked about 3 weeks in advance. Called to confirm a week before, and they sold all of their dozers. We scrambled for 3 days trying to solve this without needing to do it the way we did but in the end had no other option we knew of. I’ll explain it all in part two in detail.

This is a very true and very under rated statement. And I feel like not enough people get a chance to go through the process and find out who’s truly there when they need them most, could either be a blessing or a shame I suppose. I believe it’s a shame, I don’t mind struggling but I really like knowing the truth.
I do in fact, for now atleast... and they’re pretty laid back and aware that what I’m doing isn’t every day and I’m adding to the greater good of our community but raising property values. I was talking to the neighbor who’s off to that side the other day, he’s like we sat down for dinner and next thing I heard was a 2 stroke fire up and all this smoke passed the sliding glass door. I felt terrible and quickly apologized he laughed and said ah we just chucked and said “there’s Jason, burning the mid night oil yet again” very easy going level headed people. Going to miss them.
