I didn't know Disney had done this 'Duckling' before his best-known version (1939), so thank you very much for posting!!
LOVED how it ended! He seemed like the big brother taking care of his baby sisters. Too sweet!
The ugly duckling was driven out by his mom for three times , but finally he still rescued them! It’s really a big love 超大愛😂❤️ you can make it.
Aww poor little guy. I was rooting for him :)
Always known about this version, but never saw it. Thanks for posting!
So the lesson here is the darkest kid will always save the day LOL.
The lesson: if you are different from the group then you wont be accepted until you save their lives.
i watched this without sound, and i liked it. :)
Nice, somewhat old fashioned Disney toon. I like this better than the 1939 color Disney on the same thing. You can really see the philosophic, and of course technical, differance as the 1939 version is much more anthropomorhic and wants to be warmer and more tender. Paul Terry did a version too, with Dinky as the Ugly Duckling.
my, what an enormous difference in animation with the 1939 version!
Walt Disney must've REALLY liked William Tell.
I love how the black one looks like my brother.
If it makes you feel any better, in the 1939 color version, the ugly duckling is as white as snow, and the pretty ducklings are all yellow.
at 2:41, its like he is saying to the cow: MOM? and the cow is like: NOOOOO! :P
I fucking cried while watching it!!! T.T
Man, I feel really bad for the duckling. His chicken mother rejected him, his sisters rejected him, every other animal rejected him and it took one rescue attempt to change their minds.
Remember, this duckling is able to swim. In contrast, the hen and her chicks can't swim. Never underestimate the ability of the ducklings.
There once was a baby duck, different than the rest,
What made him stand out was that he was the ugliest.
One day he was alone and saw his reflection,
What gazed back was his distorted imperfection.
Sadness filled him deep inside,
From his face he could not hide.
But then he dreamt of becoming a beautiful swan,
The pain inside was suddenly gone.
Happiness filled him, what a glorious day,
Now, he knew, everything would be-
*Lenore:* Oh, gross! Ewww! It makes me feel ill just looking in its general direction! It's like a thing of pure yucky! I have never seen anything so hideous... well, that one time- But it had been dead for _eight weeks_, and it had something growing on its head, but anyways... I mean, three words: Butt! Ug! Ly! It's like you were pummelled with the ugly stick, which would've been a lot bigger than this, and maybe had spikes on it, or probably some boric acid. It's as if evolution kept going but _you_ didn't! I've seen rotting cabbage that was prettier than you. One time, I stepped in poo, and I watched it in the grass, and the shape it made? Kind of looked like your face... **kicks the fugly duckling into a pond** ...I don't do guilt.
The ugly duckling is actually a duck, not a swan? That seems to go against the spirit of the original story.
Yeah, it's odd... I mean it would be fine if this was called "The ugly chick". ...but then again the story and morals are also very different.
@npsari1
If you want a version that has that, watch the Modern Classics of Hans Christian Andersen. The mom is a lot nicer, and the ending is very satisfactory.
This isn't good enough for the greedies anymore, its how their raised.
What a difference from the 1939 version
It's controversial, coz How a baby Will have enough abilities to save the others? So strange, but the message is good.
ya its a chicken!
bitch of a hen smackin her kid around
3:14 I don’t think ducks cry like that
There is Mickey Mouse in the intro. The mother is a chicken instead of a duck
pluto
I want to see that mother chicken's head on a chopping block.
i felt 1931 is sadder
So technically, shouldn't this be called "The Ugly Chicken?"
You mean if the one of her "chicks" doesn't look nice.
Cutie!
Doesn't make sense for the original story...chickens?
So first Mother Chicken hate baby duck later she love baby duck cause baby duck save baby chickens.
ГАДКИЙ УТЕНОК(1931).
nooot is english
That's a chicken. Not a duck.
~~~ Hmmmmmmmm,,,Just as well I believe in Miracles!,,,heh,heh,,,,,how else could a 'choock' give birth to a 'duck' that turns into a 'swan'? ,,,,lol,,,, ~~~
I mean chicken couppe.
Chickens are terrible
Kjjnjnj
Wow this made me almost cry. The way the poor duck was treated made me remember my childhood. lol. Poor baby.
If this made you cry, wait 'till you see the 1939 remake.
