What up Jebs finally another video! I submitted bulk to CGC back in February. It was marked as "received" on 2/15/2021 and hasn't moved since. The estimated turnaround time at the time of submission was 60 working days, we're well past at this point. I've had other Express and Standard subs entered, graded, and returned to me since then. They haven't come out and said this, but I think CGC is deprioritizing bulk orders and focusing on pushing out the higher-tier subs (Express/Standard). They've been pretty spot-on with turnaround times for those higher tiers, but bulk is certainly suffering. I track all of my subs in a spreadsheet, including every single date as stuff moves through the submission process (mailed date, delivered date, received date, scheduled for grading, grading/QC, finalized, shipped to me). Its interesting to look at the data while trying to figure out the though process behind the whole thing. You're right, a lot of it doesn't make sense and these companies don't learn from each other's mistakes. With all that being said, I am satisfied with CGC overall. I think they put out a good product and the prices to grade are still reasonable (to an extent). I do think people will flood PSA again once they open their doors, but if their prices are still high (e.g. $100 for Regular), CGC will continue to get submissions. I think it's also worth discussing / mentioning that CGC uses AI and computer-based grading already. I don't think you've mentioned that. There's so much more to discuss on this topic, let me know if you'd want to collab on a podcast!
I love CGC for the fact that you receive REAL grades not hand out grades like PSA. I’d prefer a real 10 vs some half ass one with a white corner and slightly OC...
I submitted bulk to cgc back in February and the quoted time I think was 114/115 days..still on my cgc dashboard my bulk hasn't been scanned into system. cgc support said they're still getting thru the middle of March
You need to consider that CGC is using this time while PSA is closed to better establish their foothold in the market by basically forcing people to send cards to them. If they shut down their submissions like PSA then they would have no long term growth in terms of establishing their name among PSA and BGS.
It would be logical to open up a ware house and hire more people close grading to common uncommon and regular rares for now to stop backlogs would be an idea nothing grading to cards worth over 260
I actually love this idea, never thought about it like that before. I do think vintage commons/uncommons/regular rares contributed to the backlog. I think putting a minimum price requirement would've been smart on their part. Great idea!
@@PokeJebel what do you think about the old psa slabs? people saying their slabs worth more because the price of grading has gone up but older cert 10 surely is less than a new cert 10?
Like you said you hit the nail on the head it’s all about making the revenue if they can make more money they were A lot of money is in the bulk section not everyone’s got hundreds of dollars to get cards graded quickly but they could all chip in together and get 50 cards together to get graded at $15 a card so it works out cheaper for everyone that is what a lot of companies in the UK do to ship over to CGC
Unfortunately I just don’t know much about them. I read the odd Star Wars one but nothing else really. So I don’t think I know enough about the genre to sell any!
@@daleHarrison93 Most people start with what they liked as kids, frachises, or genres that interest them like fantasy/sci-fi, drama, horror, and then look for things within those. Others focus more on variant covers, certain artists, like you have in Pokemom since some artists have a unique style. And rarity gets thrown in at all levels. So, there's a lot to it, it's very deep.
@@PokeJebel I see, well it's something to keep in mind if you ever want to branch out because grading and flipping is very viable in comics as opposed to trading cards and I know you used to like or at least use that business model. There are other similaritites but even just exploring it as a collector is great too. Modern variant covers offer such a wide variety of art to enjoy for example without having to know everything about the story. Anyway, cheers 👍🏻
LOL PSA cards are worthless now that everyone saw pwcc listing recently graded psa first ed cards completely mislabeled several times. They labeled an evolutions charizard as first Ed base. Junk company

great vid bro...i still think psa should bring a video out showing exactly how a card gets graded...
I do too!!
I believe they did, it's an older video but I believe all you have to search is "PSA Grading Process"

Oh yeah I totally get that, but also if you mess this up and PSA fixes itself, you lose all those customers to PSA again.

Great video! Logical response to both PSA fanboys and acknowledgement of all updates.
Thank you!!
Have you considered getting into comics by the way? Lots of potential even in modern, the demand is quite healthy .
where would 1 even start? im into yugioh/pokemon/football card/stickers atm

I am super annoyed with PSA I have been waiting for free cards know it’s coming up to a year

I agree with you so much... fanboys just shrug these to the side and say “oh look error slab”.... F off I don’t want some half ass slab
