Nice work....very entertaining and educational.....good camera work and explanations......thanks for sharing.
Nice video and a clever piece of kit will definitely be useful
I hope so - I tried the finished item the other day and while it may not get used every day, it will come in handy.
Just what I need waiting for the next installment will be having a forced hiatus won't be able to drive for 6 wks (ahhhhh!!!), will be probably be watching lots of You Tube.
great how things "evolve".
It's getting there - the finished device has evolved into something pretty neat.
@@occasionalmachinist I have a comparator stand that I got off of a retired printer, I intend making this into a tapping stand. one of those jobs "when I get round tuit"😁
All of the tapping stands I've seen have some way of holding down - whether that is bolts or magnets. You might find that your comparator stand is not heavy enough.
@@occasionalmachinist It is 12" square cast iron 2 1/2" high, with 1 1/4" steel bar sticking up out of it. All I need to do is make a dog bone like affair, running off the upright. so I can tap straight through the other end if that makes sense.
What sort of friend looks at the fruits of your labour and says "can't you do better?”😂
Michael - Great Idea - Great Design - I can think of many uses. Two Thumbs up . -- Jim
It does come in handy. I'm glad I made it.
