I'm not an alum of either school, I agree Marioo H. In my opinion, when it comes to this battle, the JSettes are the standard from the march-ins to the ramps; they don't have to try hard for recognition whether it's 13 or 3. Therefore, when dance teams like the GGs come to Jackson, they already know they have to do extra and outright be extra to be noticed and that's precisely what you saw from GGs - but that's if a certain type of dancing tickles your fancy. Even an Alcorn alum said on another clip that the GGs have really changed because during their tenure at the school, the GGs were nothing like what you see today. Something to think about. Hats off the 3 ladies of the JSettes for displaying class, style, and grace in the face of and in spite of adversity with the team. Captain Kayla Gordon is the epitome of what it means to be a great leader. For the past two years as captain and especially between this year's SU game and this game, she and her ladies presented some iconic things for the fans that hasn't been seen from any other team - things that will talked about for some time to come . For the past two seasons, she has been the G.O.A.T. in the SWAC as captain.
This season has really made me fall in love with the GG's
I enjoyed both bands and both dance teams! Jsettes look beautiful as usual and held it down for their school. I ALWAYS LOVE THEIR UNIFORMS!!!!! The GOLDEN GIRLS LOOKED EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL! They ate the girls(In my Morgan voice😅) I’m extremely proud of this crab line for making it thru this season💜💛. Only the strongest survived 💪🏽Congratulations ASU on a job well done ALL ACROSS THE BOARD 🎶💃🏽 #ProudMomOfMakyaShanell

The J-Settes brought more than good effort. They brought a performance, but people are truly caught up on size.
Size has NOTHING to do with more current and more daring moves. I’ve seen small groups tear down larger sized groups on several occasions, but this wasn’t that. J-settes were good not better than the GG’s on this one. Just my opinion.
I love the Jsettes and appreciate they always keep it clean and smooth. But the GG's, with each count selection DEMANDED and got our attention.

Only bad thing anyone can say about the settes is that there are only 3 of them. Kayla had to keep the counts coming and they had to be cohesive as there are only 3. She had to get creative with a lot of things to make up for the three.
GG’s definitely have the numbers and great energy tho. I’d just like to see them a little cleaner. They’re on the come up for sure!

The audio/video was wonderful. The close up, clear visual showcased the sharp delivery of both teams. This was a battle with great energy. GG's ATE with each count selection hands down.

Hats off to both teams, the settles danced harder than they have ever danced before trying to represent. They added some spice to their routine and I hope they add a little more to keep up with the GGs who have added so much more to their routines they have taken over the swac. I can't wait until next year when everyone try to catch up with that powerful GG team

Lol. Btw, it doesn't matter who came first...it matters who does it best. JSetting has been popular for decades..the GGs are the second cousin to the J-Settes meaning they related but not as polished or well known. Yes, the GGs were great this season but here's something to talk about. Many members of the GG squad were Jackson Dancing Dolls and coached by Miss D. Miss D went to JSU and inspired to be a JSette and she proudly modeled her Dancing Doll team after her alma mater. So in many ways, the current GG squad should thank the JSettes for helping create Miss D's style which in turn is helping mold the GGs style...lol..Jsetting has its own Wikipedia page and is a style that is imitated but never duplicated..
R J If you think that the GGs have been hitting the ground running since 1968, you are sadly mistaken. They had batons in 1968 as well which was utilized at JSC as well. Hollis Pippin...research that name. He along with Shirley Middleton makes the difference of Jaycette/J-Sette and other squads. His legacy is that of a celebrity. It’s unsung.

Baby the GG'S prepared their whole life for this battle. Got funding for uniforms and all. They ate!! Even though some of their counts are ratchet as ever. Settes just have the uniformity, class and control that cant be touched. Asu band had more entertaining musical selections.

I have absolutely no clue what you super fans are looking at... Jsettes gave a clinic. GG's have great energy but their choreography needs tweaking and they need to work on uniformity when dancing. They're kind of wild and not together. They dont move as a unit.
