That's a single horn? No, it is a double. No, it's a single, valved historical instrument like the kind that required crooks to make them play in the right key. What a lovely sound.
Yes, this Raoux-Millereau model is a single horn with detachable crook. But furthermore, the whole valve "machine" may be detached as well, and the horn be transformed in a genuine hand horn. That's why it is called a "Cor sauterelle", a French speciality.
You know, I just don't think a forceful beginning is appropriate. It's played so well that it's quite forgivable, but I would have loved to hear a nice legato, lovely sound in the beginning and throughout a bit more.
