So I have ASD and my newest obsession is narrow boats!! I found your channel in my first google search. Catching up with your channel has been ........ can't find the words. I cried with you when you found out you had cancer. I cheered for you when you finish chemo. The word heartwarming comes to mind watching all of your episodes. Keep them coming. If I can ever figure out how to purchase a boat from here in the US and come join the narrow boat adventure - maybe I'll run into the both of you.
What's so cool about you guys is your presentation is so gentle and genuine. A complete pleasure to be entertained and amused by you. Nothing weird but you are totally friend material. Stay safe. Phil &Jan
Looking stunning Deb! 🥰 Worst we've had was a dead rat caught up in fishing wire wrapped around our prop! 🤢 Glad Stu was the one to deal with it! That prop mate/buddy tool looks amazing! I'm going on a hunt! Great to see you both sparkling ✨💛
Ace video, again! Delighted you're both looking fabulously bronzed and are cruising again. Debbie, your hair looks gorgeous! That length really, really suits you. 😘
Yaaay !!! We did this earlier this yr so we re not scarecastle virgins either but b warned if going back from the other noisy end it was alot colder ! The staff member who was so lovely with us was called Carl and told us some bloke liked it so much he d been through it 90 times in his boating life , thanks for showing us your awesome tool Mark and looking forward to your new adventures on the other side take care nb Leo and crew .🐕🏴☠️🦆.
Debs, think your hair looks lovely. It is very pleasing to see you looking so young. The canal is very shallow at the Harecastle tunnel. Steph and I used to live just up the road from Red Bull. Bought our first house there for £2034, so thanks for the nostalgia. Kidsgrove is a bit "mixed, salt of the earth folk and ruffians. The colour is just iron oxide leached out of the ground. Thanks for a smashing vblog.
I'm very claustrophobic and don't think i could handle going through those long, long, long tunnels. Your lights really brightened things up, but nothing like good ol' sunshine. It's a shame people throw junk in the canals. They do it everywhere too. Safe travels. Sandy from USA
That's one hell of a tool Mark! No one will mess with your boat after seeing that lol Lovely to see your beaming smiles once again, see you both on your next vlog 😊
Michael from Reno NV, US of A. So glad that your wife is doing well. Love your videos. Dating myself with that term. Keep the faith, and stay well and above all, enjoy life! Peace!
Mark and Deb, nice to see you again out and about. I hate fouling the propeller with trash. I have had line cutters installed on all of my boats since the 1970's when they were almost new. These were ocean going boats and not canal cruisers. Boat designers have made many contraptions that keep your prop clean of debris. A small skeg welded just a few inches in front of the prop and extending past the prop should keep garbage away from the prop. It has been done for years on motor and sailing boats, time for narrow boats to catch on, LOL. Best of luck and I like your special tool no matter what you call it, it works well. Blessings from Northern Israel for you family, your health and the safety of your ship. Yonatan
WAsn't as bad as you thought it would be but it scared the bejeepers out of me!! that scarecastle tunnel freaks me out! Love that tool by the way...handy gizmo and a very valuable gift! Cool vid and thanks for sharing.
Lovely vlog guys, so happy you are back. Someone mentioned it in the last vlog's comments, but that short hair really does suit you Deb. Mark, all you need now is a suit of armour to go with your halberd and you will be ready for anything - lol.
Wow...what a tool....never seen one of those too....brilliant vlog as usual....first time on a narrow boat yesterday crew training for Chesterfield canal trust....loved every minute
glad you got the tyre dislodged! Tunnels are the one thing that puts me off cruising the cut, felt anxious just watching your trip through :( Take care and best wishes
I love watching all your weekly vlogs here in Cape Town. You both have such a lovely sense of humour and are such a lovely fun couple. Thank you for sharing your very interesting life with me....just one of your very many followers. I was thrilled to hear that my friend Cheryl, who left South Africa last Dec and bought a liveaboard narrowboat, bumped into Mark earlier this week at the Braunston marina and had a chat. Cheryl used to watch your vlogs together with me here in Cape Town and l know you were a great inspiration to her to live the narrowboat life. I hope to also bump into you one day if l get the chance to cruise the cut with Cheryl. Deb you have been so brave and it is wonderful to see just how beautifully your hair is growing! l am just one of thousands of people who are thinking and praying for your total recovery. Good luck and please keep your vlogs coming! xxx
So lovely to actually meet you both just now. I knew I want going mad lol. Will keep in touch. Enjoy your cruising, you are both doing amazing things! Sally and Mark, Yelvertoft.
Lookin Good Ms. Debbie! I hope you are starting to feel better and better all the time Ms. Debbie! Mark I wouldn’t like the tunnels either! I suppose once your out it’s not too bad. Tyre around the prop, yikes 😬 it was great that you had the right tool for the job! Mark in Colorado

We have a prop mate on our boat also touch wood with it,it’s good to see the harecastle tunnel and we booked coming the other way.it’s brilliant going through last Saturday afternoon. Glad you got the tyre off must have been a nightmare.both looking good thanks stay safe x
😂🤣, I actually enjoyed this tunnel as I was never going to meet another boat coming the other way. we passed 8 in Braunston tunnel today, spent half the time pinned to the wall 😱
Glad your both are doing well . We came through the tunnel 2mths ago and picked up somthing round the prop in the same place under the bridge. The Trent and Mersey it a great canal from thier onwards.
I have that same LED work light - it's great to see how well it works in the tunnel. That'll be going into my box of things that I'm saving for when my boat is built!

Hi Mark & Debs Very surprised to hear you mention fumes in the tunnel as there is a forced draught system there which explains the noise at the southern entrance. Also surprised that you did an overnight by the northern portal. That is regarded as a no go area for overnighting. Down by Red Bull is nicer and safer. Jeff
The large fans help but it doesn't get rid of all the fumes. No one mentioned it as a no go area. people probably though, if he's brave enough to moor here I'm not messing with him 🤣😂

Cousin Deb, your the best love you. Thinking you might want your own channel so I can hear more of you. Mark has no clue how good he has it. Cheers and all the best! Little Rhody, New England USA!
It always goes wrong when your tired, but good to see you have the right gear for the job, wow a boiler suite. Deb's loved the Barnet and as a kid I used to ride ponies for sale at The Barnet Fair.
I used to take my girls when they were little, to streams in our area. You would be surprised how many car tires I rolled out from the water and then rolled to my van or home to dispose of them..people are not very nice sometimes. Glad it did no damage to your home. Happy travels.
Oh that blooming tunnel! Gives me the shudders! The first time I navigated it was bringing my newly-purchased boat back from Wolverhampton to its new moorings not far from Congleton. It's a 19ft Dawncraft cruiser with a small outboard, so yes, I either get to queue-jump or I'm pushed to the back of the queue at the tunnel, depending on what direction I'm going through. Anyway, first trip through, and halfway in, control cable linkage between throttle controls and outboard breaks. Broken boat and very inexperienced boater - not a great combination! Managed to bodge the linkage to get me home, but it was a memorable trip! Another time a couple of years ago, I found myself in the tunnel behind a VERY slow-moving boat. Outboard doesn't like running at tickover speed for extended periods, it needs a bit of revs to keep the cooling running efficiently. Engine eventually cuts out, I lose control, and bow of the boat hits the tunnel wall, smashing the pulpit rail off the deck and into the water. I tried and failed to retrieve the rail, and after getting the motor going again, had no choice but to carry on, informing the tunnel-keeper of the underwater obstacle I'd left behind. They had to shut the tunnel for best part of an hour to go in with their barge and retrieve the railing. These blooming yogurt pot owners, they're a menace!
Looks like you made big progress for me to see you north of Braunston this week. We went to see Mikron theatre and watched a Dogs tail. Brilliant, not to be missed.
Sounds like a jungle! So good to see the two of you cruising. I feel like you’re friends and I must keep track of what you’re up to! Stay safe and sane. Well….maybe not sane cuz how much fun would that be! 😜
Hi Mark & Debbie, just keep talking Mark...that's how you guys roll! 😊👍Love it! Wow, that was a great tool Paul gave you, glad you didn't have to stick your hands in the water! I've watched magnet fishing channels & when they come across something like that...most of them at least pull these things out if they can. So glad you guys made it through with no damage! I could just listen to you both chat away...for me it's always like a wonderful visit with some friends! Deb glad you were able to be inside to comfort your dogs! 💕 Thanks for sharing. Take really good care of yourselves, stay safe! Lots of love to you both Kathy x 💖
Once again, thank you for the cruise. Harecastle looks a bit foreboding. I believe the colour of the Water is something to do with old mine workings and iron ore. Looks a bit like Brown Windsor soup. Good job you didn't have to go overboard to free the prop. Short hair suits you Deb. :-)
Glad to see you both thriving after some dark times. This little video was about the light at the end of the tunnel in more that one respect lol. Here's hoping you continue going from strength to strength and keep posting awesome videos like this one :)
Oh happy day seeing you lovelies! Well done on that very scary tunnel and I can’t wait for the next adventure. Thanks so much for sharing, from Florida with love!
Just shows how somebody's stupidity, causes problems for others.lucky it did no damage , good to see you Both looking so fit and well and enjoying being back cruising.Debs you look wonderfull back to your cheerful happy self.see you both soon I hope.
Goodness.... the memories and horrors came flooding back of this tunnel.... we were just going to go in and the chap asked us to test our horn and light again and the horn decided it wanted a holiday off!! They had to lend us a portable klaxon for the journey!! Lester wore his mask through as it was quite smelly with the smoke from our engine chimney!!!! Bertie nearly had a fit halfway through as he was too anxious with the noise and fumes as I had forgotton to shut the engine room side hatch doors!!!!! Re the prop deweeder... you can get a deweeding tool attachment that is part of the Wolf Garten range.... once you have main pole you can buy the sharp knife attachment to click on. A possible alternative and one we willl get!! Well Done getting through!!! Xxx
Debbie, your hair looks great! Sure I’m not the first to comment on this, but I’ve been hospital and missed a week or two. You both look younger and sharper than ever!
Great little vid, must be an eerie feeling being underground in your boat, deb your rocking the hair regrowth , cheers from aus , i going dig my early sat mornings with you guys back on the cut 👍

Glad to see you both thriving after some dark times. This little video was about the light at the end of the tunnel in more that one respect lol. Here's hoping you continue going from strength to strength and keep posting awesome videos like this one :)
Never looked at it that way, a bit of a metaphorical video 👍
We have a serrated folding knife which has been invaluable. Loving the hair Deb, like someone has already said you now have more than Mark.
We're loving the matching haircuts ❤️
Oh happy day seeing you lovelies! Well done on that very scary tunnel and I can’t wait for the next adventure. Thanks so much for sharing, from Florida with love!
Our pleasure!
Just shows how somebody's stupidity, causes problems for others.lucky it did no damage , good to see you Both looking so fit and well and enjoying being back cruising.Debs you look wonderfull back to your cheerful happy self.see you both soon I hope.
So true! it could have been so much worse
Xxx
😱. My nightmare is to break down in a tunnel
@@welldeckdiaries5610 thank goodness you did not encounter the tyre in the tunnel!!!!

It is considering how old these tunnels are and the amount of subsidence they have suffered over time.
Great vlog again hope to see you soon then it's our turn for scarecastle.
