I think this one is easier to spot the Muppets than it is with the Rainbow Connection finale in the 1979 Muppet Movie. That and I can actually see where Oscar is.
Well he used pretty much every puppeteer on the West Coast for Rainbow Connection. Here, he's got maybe ... difficult to estimate, but probably at least 30-40, if you include that some might be using both arms, so a single puppeteer with two puppets.

Funny thing is that the Sesame Street crew are in the bridal section, usually reserved for the bride's friends and family. Now, this wouldn't be a thing I'd nitpick on if it weren't for the fact that Miss Piggy (the bride) has not only barely interacted with those characters in the first place and has never appeared on the show, but the cast has gotten to know Kermit for longer and interacted with him much more because back in the day he was a really central character on Sesame Street as much as he was with the Muppets themselves right up until 2000 or 2001 when Disney ratified control over the Muppets.

It STILL trips me out that Sesame Street is just a toddler spin-off of the Muppets. It’s so cool to see them interact in scenes, especially on this scale. Seeing how the Sesame Street characters are more brightly colored, cartoony looking (I’m looking at you, monster with air horns for ears), they stand out a lot. Like, I still have to wrap my head around this sometimes lol
That TENSE moment when the priest asks of Kermit “Do you take this pig to be your wife until death do you part?” and Kermit suddenly seems as if he’s about to chicken out, much less-has all the guests literally on the EDGE OF THEIR SEATS-until he finally manages to get his “I do” out, and thus he and Piggy are then pronounced man and wife(“frog and pig,” ha ha.)

Miss piggy and Kermit are perfect for each other they are soul mates forever and always miss piggy and Kermit have been together for decades and years they might have the occasional rift or fight now and then but they are meant to be now and forever if it wasn't for Kermit and miss piggy we never would have the greatest badass muppet franchise ever they are the reason why we have the muppets and the magic that Kermit and miss piggy brought us to a whole new generation of making kids happy again and Brian the legend Henson continued his dad's legacy to bring the characters that Jim created to life by the brilliant members and crew and the celebrities that are part of Jim's family that brought the legacy that Jim wanted to make Jim Henson is and always will be a true Disney legend RIP Jim Henson
@shanmer391: Well, this film was Jim's last feature with his Muppet creations, his cameo and controlling of his characters in "Muppet Family Christmas" notwithstanding. So, the Muppet 'family' had to wrap up this era somehow.
I love that jim Henson and frank oz did also briefly voice bert and erine for this scene. Beacuse i'm a fan of them. No one can deny that jim left this world too soon. My cousin and her husband have Down syndrome but they are pretty high functioning and this played at their wedding. There wasn’t a dry eye to be found anywhere. It was a beautiful moment that I’ll never forget.

Kermit has to think about this first. Remember what happened in the Muppet Show with Marisa Berenson when Kermit lets Miss Piggy plan the closing sketch, a "wedding sketch". And later, she hires a real minister, and Scooter fools Kermit into signing the license. And when the minister asks if Kermit takes Miss Piggy to be his wife, Kermit says "I......I..........I want to introduce to you the amazing Lew Zealand and his Boomerang Fish!" (This was Lew's debut) And then, Lew takes the stage throwing his fish as Piggy chases Kermit around the church. And at the end, Piggy kicks Kermit through the curtain. Kermit then has to let Marisa say goodbye to the audience, as Miss Piggy is still mad at Kermit for not saying "I do". The chase resumes. Kermit then hides in Statler and Waldorf's box, and says that if they let him hide in it, he'll give them tickets to "next week's show." They then throw Kermit out of their box. Anyone remember that?

Bostonscholar, It is both part of the show and real. The show that Kermit wrote called for the two leads to get married at the end. The two lead roles were played by Kermit and Piggy. But, Piggy fixed it so that it would be a real minister there rather then a fake one that was supposed to be played by Gonzo. Hence Kermit's line " I thought Gonzo was supposed to play the minister."
The actor who played the minister was actually a former pastor in real life. Funny, outside this movie Kermit and Miss Piggy were apparently never married, but it actually makes since when you realize the actor Cyril Jenkins was a former minister, as he had retired from ministry by the time this movie was made.
Ernie and Kermit have the exact same voices. Bert and Fozzie have the exact same voices. Cookie Monster and Animal are both alike. Grover and Gonzo are both alike.
Also in my opinion (and others would probably agree with me) FUNNY seeing BOTH Bert AND Ernie attending Kermit’s wedding, for two reasons:(one pertaining to each roommate and best friend), in Bert’s case, because I’ve heard it said he and Kermit had issues with each other on Sesame Street, and in Ernie’s case, naturally simply because they were both performed by Jim Henson, AND sounded pretty much IDENTICAL! (as all Old School Sesame Street viewers including myself know!)
@nibornna: Because he was still a background character. It wasn't until he wrote "Elmo's Song" that focus began to gravite towards him. Before that, he was just a spotlight stealer, taking the helper role from Grover (he called Kermit 'Mister Green Frog' in the same way Grover called him 'Froggy Baby') & taking Big Bird's naive role (complete with singing ABCEFGHI, Bird's signature song). Oddly, the melody and tune of "Elmo's Song" became the theme of Elmo's World when it debuted in 1998.

Miss piggy and Kermit are perfect for each other they are soul mates forever and always miss piggy and Kermit have been together for decades and years they might have the occasional rift or fight now and then but they are meant to be now and forever if it wasn't for Kermit and miss piggy we never would have the greatest badass muppet franchise ever they are the reason why we have the muppets and the magic that Kermit and miss piggy brought us to a whole new generation of making kids happy again and Brian the legend Henson continued his dad's legacy to bring the characters that Jim created to life by the brilliant members and crew and the celebrities that are part of Jim's family that brought the legacy that Jim wanted to make Jim Henson is and always will be a true Disney legend RIP Jim Henson

@shanmer391: Well, this film was Jim's last feature with his Muppet creations, his cameo and controlling of his characters in "Muppet Family Christmas" notwithstanding. So, the Muppet 'family' had to wrap up this era somehow.
I love that jim Henson and frank oz did also briefly voice bert and erine for this scene. Beacuse i'm a fan of them. No one can deny that jim left this world too soon. But this was a pretty good send off for his muppets trilogy. I saw this frist back when I was a toddler back in the 80s and it hits so much harder now! This is the most touching part of the whole movie in my opinion "he'll make me happy "is the perfect song to close the movie! I remember watching this before i was 10 and loving it. Now I'm 33 and I'm crying watching this 😭 it's all so epic 4:36-4:49 you can notice some slight character development through kermits face after the big kiss, kermit goes from slightly flustered, then accepttant. He now knows that he is indeed married to the girl who sought him out since their youth. The genius that was jim Henson 😢💚 my childhood in the 80s watching this. Great times...lol the fact that this was the first time i had ever seen this the children's television workshop muppets and the Muppet show muppets together on one screen made me so happy as a happy as a kid (although they were cameos from time in other venues, they was a big one.) I get all teary eyed when they're coming down the aisle . Such a beautiful song about love. Piggy looks gorgeous in that wedding dress and kermit looks so handsome absolutely perfect for each other now and forever i love how excited everyone gets when they're married.
The funny thing is I believe they had Kermit on Good Morning America the following Monday and he made it clear he WAS NOT married to Piggy and that it was all for the movie. 😂😂😂
I just always had thought the wedding was part of the Broadway play they were doing...
But Piggy did get a real minister and the set transitioned to an actual chapel 🤔

My cousin and her husband have Down syndrome but they are pretty high functioning and this played at their wedding. There wasn’t a dry eye to be found anywhere. It was a beautiful moment that I’ll never forget.
My favorite line and scene in the movie is where the babies and the older ladies sing this line:

In the movie, was this a real wedding or was this just a scene in their Broadway show?
Kermit has to think about this first. Remember what happened in the Muppet Show with Marisa Berenson when Kermit lets Miss Piggy plan the closing sketch, a "wedding sketch". And later, she hires a real minister, and Scooter fools Kermit into signing the license. And when the minister asks if Kermit takes Miss Piggy to be his wife, Kermit says "I......I..........I want to introduce to you the amazing Lew Zealand and his Boomerang Fish!" (This was Lew's debut) And then, Lew takes the stage throwing his fish as Piggy chases Kermit around the church. And at the end, Piggy kicks Kermit through the curtain. Kermit then has to let Marisa say goodbye to the audience, as Miss Piggy is still mad at Kermit for not saying "I do". The chase resumes. Kermit then hides in Statler and Waldorf's box, and says that if they let him hide in it, he'll give them tickets to "next week's show." They then throw Kermit out of their box.

It is both part of the show and real. The show that Kermit wrote called for the two leads to get married at the end. The two lead roles were played by Kermit and Piggy. But, Piggy fixed it so that it would be a real minister there rather then a fake one that was supposed to be played by Gonzo. Hence Kermit's line " I thought Gonzo was supposed to play the minister."

The actor who played the minister was actually a former pastor in real life. Funny, outside this movie Kermit and Miss Piggy were apparently never married, but it actually makes since when you realize the actor Cyril Jenkins was a former minister, as he had retired from ministry by the time this movie was made.

Also in my opinion (and others would probably agree with me) FUNNY seeing BOTH Bert AND Ernie attending Kermit’s wedding, for two reasons:(one pertaining to each roommate and best friend), in Bert’s case, because I’ve heard it said he and Kermit had issues with each other on Sesame Street, and in Ernie’s case, naturally simply because they were both performed by Jim Henson, AND sounded pretty much IDENTICAL! (as all Old School Sesame Street viewers including myself know!)
@nibornna: Because he was still a background character. It wasn't until he wrote "Elmo's Song" that focus began to gravite towards him. Before that, he was just a spotlight stealer, taking the helper role from Grover (he called Kermit 'Mister Green Frog' in the same way Grover called him 'Froggy Baby') & taking Big Bird's naive role (complete with singing ABCEFGHI, Bird's signature song). Oddly, the melody and tune of "Elmo's Song" became the theme of Elmo's World when it debuted in 1998.

I can't get over this. Why is the Sesame Street cast on the bride's side? They should be on the groom's side because Kermit is a recurring character on Sesame St. and Miss Piggy isn't.
