I did the full cast audio for the first 2 Murderbot books. I too discovered I can't do sci-fi as audio, but after the second listen of the first one I loved it. I enjoyed the second one, wonder if I'd liked it better if I'd actually read it. Can't wait to see how you feet about the second one. I recently listened to "The Only One Left" and really enjoyed the experience, hope you do to!
The murderbot audio book was great. However, I find that I tend to rate books lower when listening over reading. I think it’s because I don’t become as immersed and I miss some details.
I completely agree, which is why I won't be listening to many more audiobooks unless they are mystery/thriller and set in a contemporary setting. Like you, I can't give it my all on an audio😊
The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs is my favorite of the year and my top 2 favorite books of all times in general!
