Whether you are new to the fulfillment game or have been here for years, you probably understand that an efficient warehouse is king. The number one variable cost for eCommerce fulfillment is labor. The Shipedge Warehouse Management system is designed to eliminate errors and significantly reduce labor costs.
The very first step is warehouse design. This quick video first explains how Shipedge Bins and Locations work. Next, we discuss the different kinds of bins and how they can help you. We also give a real-world analogy that can help you and your team understand the warehouse layout mentality.

I’m absolutely infatuated with warehouse work, I started as a temp-picker to a fulltime reach truck operator with supervisor responsibilities. Anything valuable I can bring to the company that got me up on my feet is appreciated. Thank you for the video!

Sounds good. What software do you use to create these awesome warehousing animations and introduction to Shipedge videos please?

You could probably make some simple geometric animations like this on Adobe After Effects, good luck!

Would be more efficient if you number the aisles not the rows so you can pick from side to side

Hey Gwynne, thanks for your response! I think in some scenarios you're 100% right which is why we also support pick routes for zig-zag picking. We've spent quite some time comparing zig-zag picking vs s picking.
We noticed that the simpler S picking route reduced training time and led to fewer travel errors. Although we prevent errors while picking through mobile scanning, It still slows down the average picks per hour for a route.
Also for eCommerce fulfillment, we noticed that some more complex layouts driven by sell-through rates or SKU affinity were better supported by S picking.

@@benjywang9918 Hi would be good to understand what you mean by S picking. Aisle numbering definitely allows for sku affinity and ABC picking especially when it comes to picking from shelving

@@gwynnerichards8586 There are quite a few names for it like single side picking, etc.
