- David set a Guinness World Record as the most watched man on TV. He first gained recognition on The Young and The Restless, playing Dr. Snapper Foster. His career continued with his leading role as Michael Knight on Knight Rider and as L.A. County Lifeguard Mitch Buchannon in the series Baywatch. Hasselhoff produced Baywatch from the 1990s until 2001 when the series ended with Baywatch Hawaii. On screen, he appeared in films including Click, Dodgeball, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, and Hop.
In 2000, he made his Broadway debut in the musical Jekyll & Hyde. Following his debut, he starred in other musicals including Chicago and The Producers.He was a celebrity cast member on the eleventh season of Dancing with the Stars which increased in ratings by 36% from the previous year and served as a judge on NBC's America's Got Talent from 2006-09. In 2011, he joined the Britain's Got Talent judging panel, replacing Simon Cowell.
I grew up watching Knight Rider and I still watch it now that I'm in my late 30's

I'm 39 now and I grew up on this show as well. I even had a picture of me and my sister sitting in KITT at a car show when we were kids.

I was at the Bayside that day and met David when I was 19. I was a big fan of the show, and have a picture I took with him that day hanging on my refrigerator today.
Wow thats so cool, i wish i could have met him back then, that show was so popular, i loved it and still do today, he had so much going for him also, popularity, fame, money, he had it all!
I have a picture with him too what a great smile we look back at our clothes then and say I really went out of the house in that🤭, simpler days back then.👍 would love to see him now!
I ran into him in 1996 at ceasers palace in Vegas after de la hoya vs Chavez fight and when he appeared at the valet he whole crowd roared in admiration.

Knight Rider is like Batman set in the more real world, there's a gothic vibe, the mansion, the truck, the car, the blackness of Michael Knight, the hair, clothes, this dark vibe is the actual magic elixir that resonates with the audience, if anyone tries to remake it, if they don't get that gothic style, it won't work. The show had subtle touches that connected with our subconscious.

David totally made the show. His character completely influenced my life, and the credo of the show than one man can make a difference defines who I am. Love this show to this day and would love to see the series rebooted the right way.

When I met David Hasslehoff on the movie 🎥 set of Kickin it Old Skool a Jamie Kennedy movie where David was incredibly good to all his fans including me.
It's always great to see someone out of their element.. Such an intuitive, intelligent kind hearted man. He really did deserve all his success. Kudos to you Mr. Hasselhoff for being a genuinely good soul, paying your successes forward, and giving all the glory to God. You are a true role model on and off camera, and one man that truely did make a difference!

As a child I used to look forward to seeing Knight Rider every week. Michael and KITT lit up the screen, it's still my favourite series.

I have always known of David Hasselhoff, having been a hug fan of Knight Rider or course. But after watching this show, even now with how old this video is, it really made me respect the man more than the persona of The Hoff. I found this to be rather touching, personal, and I actually find myself believing everything that he is saying, because even with the jokes and smugness of his stardom at the time, he still came off as a "Real man with real life struggles" and I respect that. I never met David Hasselhoff. I would like to one day before either of us dies.

Great interview very honest and real. This is David Hasselhoff before he became the Hoff. So raw talented and good looking. I grew up with Knight rider and Michael Knight the TV show amazed me. I still remember the first episode that I watched. The fantastic back story of the man who does not exist. There has never been another like it ever since. I still wish they could bring it back but make it as real as it was in the 80s

This is from January 1986, as they mention the episode "The Scent of Roses". That episode was supposed to be the series finale, and David fought hard for it to be as such, but they didn't. Which is sad as the episode had "Series Finale" written all over it.

I have the DVD set of the series, and I always watch that episode (Scent Of The Roses) as the last one. They screwed the pooch when Voodoo Knight was the final episode.
That should have totally have been the series finale. It seemed weird to see it end with Voodoo Knight and without Bonnie.
Loved knight rider!! still love it to this day! Met him at world of wheels in Chicago ages ago! Would love to see him today, isn't it funny how a show got us in the house faster then our parents yelling at us on days it wasn't on! it was on Halloween 🎃 and we all cut it short to get home to watch Michael and Kitt. We need shows like this today, we wouldn't have the problems we have in this world today! One show one man one car can make a difference! I was in my mid 20's when Night Rider came on. I was already a had an 1982 Trans Am, so everything clinked. David Hasselhoff is an awesome guy, Knight Rider is an awesome show.

David Hasselhoff was one of the realist people and still is one of the realist people in my opinion when it comes to Hollywood. I grew up watching knight rider as a child and still watch it to this day.
Must have been quite a privilege for David to be interviewed by Caesar Flickerman from The Hunger Games.
