Excellent review! I am 68 but was an exchange student in Buenos Aires in 1972 for 3 months after my junior year in high school. I did not develop typhoid from Argentina, but i was hospitalized in the Hospital Britanico for a month from having developed typhoid fever. Argentine's were the kindest people around. Years later, as a veterinarian finishing my career in South Florida, I told Argentine's the same thing. Great people. As a side note, Argentina is known for its high quality leather goods. I told my "adopted mother" that i will buy the leather jacket when i leave the country but she said, buy it NOW as the price will change tomorrow.
Thank you for sharing your video! I just booked Palladio for a few days before my Antartica expedition. I appreciate your descriptive narrative about the hotel's amenities especially the outlet types available and room configuration. Any information about the laundry service and closest grocery store/s and post office?
Laundry was available while I was there. Grocery stores are all over BsAs- as for post offices, I don't seek them out so I wouldn't know. Thanks for watching 🩴
Wow bless your heart what a great review. Thx a bundle👍 Now I got really interested to visit Buenos Aires in the near future. The hotel looks awesome. The Breakfast buffet is enough for me. dont need something special. Hotel service, room condition and cleanliness is very important. Wondering if the Palladio belongs to a hotel group? Just for bonus programms.
I’m just learning about BA and need to book a room and figure out a sightseeing plan for 3 nights pre-cruise. There is a post-cruise “highlights tour” that will keep us busy for 9 hrs then deposit us at the airport for our red eye home. I’m trying not to overlap things that are on the post-cruise excision with pre-cruise sightseeing. I have so much to learn. When you said there is sn unofficial exchange rate that could save us half, I was like “stop the tape”! I need to find out about that!
Unfortunately the currency situation will be more of a headache than anything else. Make sure you bring crisp, untorn, unmarked US $100s. You can reliably exchange at any Western Union for nearly the Dolar Blue (black market) price. Keep in mind, if you pay for hotels in cash, you must pay 21%VAT (which will be in addition to any ARS rate in your booking confirmation), which is exempt if you pay by card. Also, the cash prices are simply going to make prices across the board reasonable. It's not that the black market prices are so great, it's that the real prices are so inflated. That said, still my favorite city haha... Thanks for watching 🩴
Another great review. The hotel impresses even if it fails the WBM Test of having sufficient hangers in the closet. I would have had to break out my emergency supply of plastic hangers. If Argentina's currency is in distress, it's time to visit again. I'd happily stay here.
"plain old ham and cheese utilised in 65 different ways get yourself a ticket to Argentina" lm dead 🤪 you certainly have all the one liners!! This cracked me up👍
I remember like 9 years ago I was on a fancy overnight bus ride from Buenos Aires to Mendoza. We were served a "three course meal." I'm looking at the photos of it now, First course was bread with a cheese sauce dip. Second course was a selection of starters including: 1. a mini ham & cheese toastie, a ham & cheese rollup (with two bits of green bell pepper for color), and then a single rolled slice of ham and one of cheese. For the main, it was a white "lasagna" which wouldn't you know it, was made with the same cheese sauce served with the bread and had spinach, carrots and ham in it. I suppose I should have been thankful for all the vegetables 😂
I’m generally more a fan of IC resorts than city hotels. I didn’t choose the IC in BsAs simply because of how dated the photos made it feel. It’s MGallery for me, easily. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
They do but it will be a poor rate. Just ask at the front desk for the closest place with a good rate, they’ll guide you without hesitation. I used a Western Union a couple blocks away.
@tfft , that is good to know, how much lead time did it take for WU to complete the fund transfer request? Is it a good idea to wire yourself twice, one for pickup at EZE WU branch for 50,000 ARS ( I think that is their limit), then go to a WU near the hotel for another amount?

Yes, Palladio is an MGallery property which is part of Accor. MGallery is their collection of ‘independent’ hotels. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@tfft Thanks for your answer 🙏

None available at the hotel haha. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Does the hotel offer currency exchange services (USD to ARS)? I am trying to figure out the best way to safely exchange USD in BA.

@marycolmenar1633 you can do fund transfers and WU has decent rates. But I simply exchanged USD there.
