Set a Cloaky Alt on your exit (ibis with cloak and civ gun), shoot gankers with alt, wait for concord to be on Grid - exit Abyss and gtfo. Works fine and they wont try again
Thank you for content. Im always glad you also show losses and errors. I wonder why you decided not to use boosters by the second wave as you saw time was going to be tight but you made it anyway \o/
What you can try before you sacrifice midslots imho is: Use T2-precision missiles, they might have a bit less "boom" but might actually fare better on the smaller stuff then the Navy ones. Also maybe switch on Ballistic control system for a guidiance computer. Test it in T4-Enviroment to actually see if it improves you time or not.
Hiya Dr Ace. :):D Enjoying your vids. You've mentioned not being too fond of multi-boxing and had good reasons, but there seems to me to be one application where it might be super valuable and that is as anti-gank prevention. like if you had a couple of cheap Ospreys for instance waiting at your exit site with their remote reppers flashing ready to go and the moment your bling ship moves they click on that character. Even if the gangers lock target before your logi i noticed they don't one-shot you so those reps kicking in just after that first volley should save the bling ship. Yes? I am most keen to know if this will work. I have a few Ospreys waiting for me but I'm just running T2 Hawks so not a big worry. I'd think also if the gankers see the cheap logi waiting it will put them off taking the chance. I was also thinking that for those who don't have multiple characters one could do this with a couple of mates where you stagger your runs and so when you come out your mates are waiting in their logi and then one of them begins and you go change ship in the local station and are there for them. It will take a bit of coordination to get the timing right, but could certainly add lots of safety. Yes? :)
Oh man I was in system for this gank, just chilling scanning down sigs in my little Helios - I was wondering when/if it would make it to the channel. There's something special about Eve being an single-shard MMO, it wasn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things but this was kind of one of my "I was there" moments lol. Obviously a sad situation for your brand-new Muninn, but it's fascinating to see an Eve "famous name" (you!) appear in this little backwater system, then local light up with flashies and think "what the heck just happened?!?", check zkill and see the sad events. Thanks for all the content o7
Maybe just have a bunch of t2-3 filaments on you and keep entring them and waiting at the last gate for he full 20 min :) make them rage and the assault damage control module would help a lot too imho. great vid as always :)
Been watching your Abyssal stuff for a few weeks now while I work my way up to 5s (currently on 4s) and I have found and set up a few spots in systems that stay fairly quiet. Way off the gate and any stations so I am not immediately scannable. So far I have only come out of one site and ran into combat probes. Thankfully they hadnt all gathered and I think they were still scanning the site down and I was able to get out. So out of prolly close to 200 sites I have only gotten close once to a potential gank. But I have taken the time to go and set up bookmarks for this in a few different systems spread out across around 20 jumps give or take from one another. I am running a Gila currently (love the ship lol) any advice?
Same here .... just picking very quiet far far corners for abyssals ... it helps if some anomalies or wormholes scanned down give a warp-to to nowhere if they are gone ....
@@hurdurdur7rl696 yea since I am alone most of the time WHs are a rare blueloot treat I bite on not often. Lost a lot of ships diving those and growing comfortable lol. Hey Ace .. what do you think of a Vigilant for some web bonuses? If so, will Rails have enough tracking or would Blasters be better? Or perhaps there's some T2C's that have web effect bonus? (I'm not familiar enough with all the T2C's).
A bit disappointing that the video is cut at 16:03 just after you've got 169m/s speed... Perhaps most intriguing moment! How close to warp speed were you before they got you targeted and scrambled?
It seems a new awesome feature to the game would be to somehow choose 1 extra slot for high, mid, low slot. Would make sense to me if it was a rig slot that unlocked an extra slot.
Would it help you survive ganks to put an alt in a cloaked logistics ship, fit with as much remote rep as you can stuff into it sitting near the abyssal trace? All it needs to do is keep you alive until Concord arrives, just not sure if that would actually work.
or you could just pull concord on grid with your alt by attacking them i guess. They would probably not have the time to take you down when you get out of the trace with concord on grid.
@@TyrInAsgard LOL! Could you imagine the gank fleet chat if you did that? This sounds like not only the most functional, but the most hilarious anti gank strat. "Why the hell did a corvette just agress us?" "OH LOOK! SHINY TARGET! ATTA- we're dead. why are we DEAD?!"

Can you/someone please define "application" as you use it? Its very confusing to us (me) Americans. Also, I dont really understand why you go with 2 reppers instead of the Assault damage control. --thanks Oh, and why not use med drones?
in the simulation window you see a raw dps number. This is your POTENTIAL dps. Think of missiles as frag grenades: the bigger the target and the smaller the frag radius, the more fragments actually hit and do damage. Bigger missiles have bigger explosions, small ships are so small that much of the effect whizzes right past them, meaning they take reduced damage. Same way, a ship that's moving quickly can moreless outrun the front of the fragments, so it will also take reduced damage. "more application" refers to "making more of that potential dps actually stick to the target", be it by slowing the target down (webifiers), making it appear bigger (target painters), or trying to enhance the missile explosion velocity/decrease the missile explosion radius (missile guidance computer or various rigs). Only if you have perfect application , the actually observed dps is the same as in the simulation window. Otherwise your actual real world dps drops lower.
Application of damage. Having a big DPS number doesn't mean anything if all your shots are going wide or the target outruns your missile explosions etc etc. th-cam.com/video/JVwkmvLau70/w-d-xo.html
Assault damage control cycles for seconds every 3 minutes, if I remember correctly. Not as useful as something that is active for the whole 3 minutes for most pve. Edit: Resists bonuses are passive? This is better than I thought.
I think these are Ace's experiments to find a good fit for Dark's. I think he's put out plenty of vids showing how profitable Abyss can be in general and good Gila and other T2 ship fits for running all levels of Abyss. But I've always stayed away from Darks precisely cause of the damage application issues. If those issues can be solved, and you go to somewhere quiet where you're not likely to have gankers... it looks very profitable imo.
those ganks are a bit lame yo uwast e all that time getting thru and then they 100% have you as you exit so not only do you loose your ship inbstantly you also loose all teh time just seems like a toxic enviroment
i recommend you try set up a gank like that. It's not quite as easy as you think. Then again, maybe it is. Try gank a few people and see if you can make it profitable. Edit: I'm certain by setting up a gank or more you will find out ways to counter gankers. It is possible. Requires some effort, but doable.

HAMs don't get precision missiles, but javelin missiles. Javelin missiles have the same application as navy, but worse damage (and more range).
