UK government's 'massive U-turn' on net zero policies due to 'popular revolt'

  • The UK government’s rethink on net zero policies is a “massive victory for common sense,” according to Sky News host Peta Credlin.
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said as he announced the changes that previous governments had failed to “look people in the eye and explain what’s really involved”.
“What’s turned the tide in Britain isn’t a rethink from political leaders because they want to, but a rethink because they have to,” Ms Credlin said.
“Driven in large part by a popular revolt, from ordinary householders to British bans on normal cars and gas domestic heating.
“It’s people power that’s got this massive U-turn, nothing else.”

It isn't. There is no 'u-turn', it is just the appearance of a slight alteration in course to make the dummies who vote Conservative think there is a difference between the Tories and Labour in the upcoming election. The Energy Bill that has just been passed in the UK shows their true intentions.

What's wrong with net-zero when we can have -
Every wind turbine in Australia receiving in EXCESS of $500,000 each and every year in subsidies derived from Renewable Energy Certificates. PLUS the income from power generation.
On the basis of there being 2,077 wind turbines in Australia, the RET provides $1.09 billion PER ANNUM ! to the wind industry.
Turbines spinning continuously, typically take 6-7 years to replace the energy needed to manufacture it. The government (taxpayers) pay for the wiring and access infrastructure from turbines to grid.
Typical lifespan of 20 - 25 years means each turbine receives 10 - 12.5 BILLION DOLLARS, PLUS the income it receives for the electricity generation.
2,077 wind turbines X 10 - 12.5 BILLION DOLLARS - what could possibly be wrong with that ?

People are already pissed about inflation, price of power, price of fuel, immigration and whatever else and will blame whatever Govt. is in power.
We're also a big country and the infrastructure isn't keeping up with it all from what I see.
Time will tell but I suspect we haven't seen the end of all of this just yet.

It all boils down to the Postmodernism which labored that, unlike Modernism which looked to Science for truth, the Individual is the source of all truth. This has led to expressions like “my truth” rather than “my opinion”, the fragmentation of society into a bunch of individuals trying to get over on one another, a breakdown of morality, and the attempt to discredit anyone who believes in God, Family, and Country. It’s repugnant 🤮…
