I know im a year late, but hopefully i can help if you havent gotten any, but if i understand correctly, that transition he did to go infront of the beam is a whole move you can do, you have to attack, or i think you can just press it too but its better to attack first to get a hit off and do as much damage as possible, yk? then press right trigger B (using an Xbox controller) then point your analog stick towards it and it will counter it and not take any damage. then if you land the counter and hit the monster, you can press your spirit combo right after and it will will the roundslash and level up your spirit gauge, hope i helped haha
@@Thecrowsism no it wasn't, it was a bao bao throwing a tiny barrel bomb trying to hit the monster but hit the hunter instead and does damage. the blast element from the rage brachy LS doesn't do any damage to you or throw you like that
@@swagpigggy5538 Helm breaker used to have this weird hitbox where it would completely miss or do very little damage sometimes even if the attack landed directly on a monster. A true nightmare.
1:18 impressed me. I find it a bit difficult to level up the gauge when fighting Rajang, and I've never thought of running into one of his attacks that way. Guess I need to get more creative 👀

Btw i'm looking for arena quests to pratice but all i can see is is the ones at gathering hub. Thoses are not available for every weapons. This is pointless... Other thing is i realised that arena quests i did via Optional Quest doesn't exist anymore and i can't craft the Asure star weapon"s path. Did i miss something?
@@Nokronz I don't have USJ events anymore. Is it possible to get 'em back on the quest list? I mean i already have better weapons but i don't get it, is it intented to make thoses quests time limited?
What makes this even more interesting is that the run clearly isn’t optimized, many mistakes occur during the run that set back the time by a little bit, but a little bit is a lot in speedrunning
Thank you Peppo! Thanks to patch 13.01, Longsword has become fun since the helmbreaker fix. Now if only Capcom would do some changes to the Iai stance attacks. The Iai spirit slash counter 2nd delayed hit really irritates me(it sometimes miss, it hits non weakspots, etc. ) Also Capcom should buff Iai sheath speed exclusively when using Quick sheath level 3. the speed difference is almost non-existent. also, they should add combo routes like SNS and DB to tenderize easier.( Example: 1:use up one spirit gauge to tenderize parts once; 2: after spirit roundhouse slash, you can transition to clutch claw grapple.)
Why not make the ls do everything? The weapon is already the most used among the players since it provides so much mobility, evasion, counters, and damage. Lol The weapon is balanced anything more would just break the game.

I'm playing on PC and I just finished Shara Ishvalda yesterday with a shitty build (and a bit of help thru SOS). I seriously need to step up on my game and dedication to farming and my skills to have a better build and gameplay after seeing these kind of hunts...
And I have a cuestión... Taking challenger 7 and getting of atack augment on the meta build... It's going to be more damage? Because challenger 7 gives you 8 more damage, and the augment gives you 17 more damage, but I don't know if the calculation damage its going to be like that because challenger damage works super different xd
can you tell please how do you know you can make a monster to turn with a clutch claw? because I often see monster doesnt turn even if it doesn look enraged
