I have been preaching and teaching Bible for over 50 years. In 1957, I began studying the scriptures diligently after graduating from high school. In 1980, God began dealing with me, bringing me to what I believed was my deathbed in 1985.
In the hospital, I awoke near death crying out to God, "Lord, You are going to kill me if I don't quit living for myself and saying all the truth in my power!!!"
Thereafter, I began to say these blunt plain words that appeal to the elect sheep. As a result, I began to make more enemies than I could have ever imagined. I was sick and tired of the “mush” gospel that churches were preaching.
My family was confused, and on many occasions on the way home from church, my wife would say, "he said such-and-such last week and he said this-and-that this week contradicting what he said the previous week." I began to say to my wife Mary, "don't listen to the preacher, because he doesn't know what he’s talking about." Finally, I said, "this is a waste of time! We are going home. We are not going to these churches anymore. I will teach you from our home."
Nearly thirty years ago, we started Grace and Truth Ministries which included my wife, son and one other young man. We started taping the sermons shortly thereafter. God Has Chosen
Romans 8:29-30 - "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified."
Foreknow - to have a personal intimate relationship beforehand.
God predetermined that all who belonged to him before the foundation of the world were to "conform" to the word of God in obedience to Christ.
All that were predestined were "called", "justified", and "glorified" (past tense verbs). These were fixed in the mind of God before the world began. (Ephesians 1:4; Acts 13:48; II Thessalonians 2:13). The election of the saints is unto accountability (I Peter 1:2).
The majority of the protestant church held to this doctrine during the reformation. It is the foundation of "The London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689". You Baptists are supposed to be believing it and you've discarded this precious doctrine of Grace !!!

Don't you find it strange that Samuel's sons walked not in his ways of Samuel being that Samuel was reared by Eli at such a young age? Wouldn't he teach his sons the same thing? I wonder is there any record of them repenting.
I don't recall Eil's son's repenting, and I've read the Bible hundreds of times. I find it odd too that the rest of his sons were wicked? Perhaps, Samuel is a picture of Saxon Israel, His Predestined, Elect, and Chosen. I've never known what to make of this story or what else to connect it to. It is peculiar that all His sons were wicked. There is no mention, if I recall rightly, that his sons EVER were righteous.
It's a lesson concerning who fathers u in the spirit per se. If u are not careful u can inherit your leaders traits good or bad. But I think that Samuel may have been so busy with God's work and the school of the prophets etc that he may have left his children to themselves. I wonder who was his wife😊
Who a man of God marries is very important. No matter how called you are by God to work in His vineyard, if you are married and have children, you might end up neglecting your own children while serving and teaching others, only a godly and understanding partner can teach your children the ways of the Lord.

hi david, not sure what you are referring to, but jim does not "debate" scripture with anyone.. perhaps you saw him correcting someone after a message, but jim has never participated in any debates
