Great review! Love your style and your mate was a Hoot! I have a 2015 A250 Sport and when you make note of Eco Mode and the cars sluggish behaviour, rather than fumbling for the Centre Console switch to select Sport Mode, I usually use the Paddle Shifters, this will temporarily switch to Manual Mode, drop a gear or 2 down, then eventually revert back to the original Mode selected once you ease off on the throttle..
Great video mate!!!. I was literally just about to get the A45 AMG and am completing the paperwork this Saturday on my purchase and have now decided on the A250 AMG 4MATIC instead. My biggest concern was the fuel economy and obviously the A45 is a fuel killer (knew this from the start), but after watching this review the A250 AMG 4MATIC is an overall winner with descent power/performance and fuel economy.

At the moment I am driving a Fiesta ST2 so I don't know much about the auto cars but my dad has a Audi S3 I know thats more powerful anyway than a a250 but he said when he is in eco mode when he needs the power he just uses the flappy pedals to put it down a couple of gears then when he has over taken or gotten out of the situation the car changes back to eco

Definitely roars, and from what I remember you do get a good pop and crackle on gear change in sport +! Wouldn't mean a great deal to your average driver but to a petrol head like us, it's a definite bonus :) before you settle on it, see about testing a 250! I know Mercedes can put a performance exhaust on which DEFINITELY makes a pretty hefty difference to both the 250 & the 45, and i think I'm correct in saying the performance exhaust is switchable in the cab, so as not to annoy your neighbours lol! Glad we could help, give shimmy TV's review a mention when your in Mercedes :) word of mouths an awesome thing!
proper good taste in music around 7mins50 in. BTW is it really slow to accelerate in comfort mode as it is in eco mode? i can imagine having a real hard time breaking the engine in for 1000 miles in eco or comfort mode!
Mandeep Panesar nope only in eco mode is accelerating slow, in comfort it shifts gear between 2,5-4.000rpm so it accelerate very good and in sport mode it shift over 5.000 rpm so its beast...
I own an A250 sport 4matic in Motorsport Edition. First of all the car u drive is the sports version, not the regular as you said in the video. The thing with "no power in eco mode if you push down the gas pedal". Its just a lie. If you push it down until the point when it clicks, you have nearly the same power as in sports mode.

Yes, the car Shimmy was driving was indeed the sports version, and he would definitely have been aware of this. I'm not sure he says anything otherwise in the review. I had a quick listen again and nope...I didn't spot any talk of driving a 'regular' A class. Thanks for letting us know about your experience of flooring it in eco mode. I'm not sure that 'lie' was the best choice of words here, but it certainly is interesting that when you have put your foot down in eco mode the A class responded well. It is perhaps something to note that not every car out of the factory will deliver the exact same driving experience. Thanks for watching and getting in touch :)

Sheridan Sidlow or get the manual... the AMG tweaked manual box is fantastic.

Also you could have shown of the ambient lighting when your friend got in and it was dark

To overtake in eco mode you need to hold the down change paddle for about 1 second !
