    Rebuilding indeed, goes without saying. My own assessment is that it will take at least two seasons. And there are a number of caveats around that. Chris’ own motivation, the patience of the board, the funds made available, etc. See you in 2026, I’ll still be there.

    Seen today UTD will accept bids of £15million upwards for Hamer.Whats the point signing quality then willing to sell after one season.Parachute money and clearing out the deadwood ought to be enough money for a rebuild

    If we sell hamer for 15 I wont be happy. Didn't we pay more for him and plus he's got a good few years with us..He's worth more now than when we got him. We have give him Premier league experience. We shouldn't sell him anything less than 20.. I hope prince doesn't strip what we have got before he goes

    Well thought out and thoughtful insight Hal
    I wouldn’t have gone for Chris to come back
    I think he knew we were down when he came back and unfortunately has just gone through the motions with what he has at his disposal
    He brought in 3 players 1’s been good 1’s been ok 1’s been garbage
    The test for him & us starts now

    Dunno. The way I see it Hecky - and others behind the scenes - had a lot to do with Iliman's phenomenal performances. (Remember Iliman's reaction after the goal against Fulham?) I'm not sure he'll ever be anything like the player we saw last season. No matter where he goes. The stars aligned. Maybe that was once in a lifetime.

  • @michael7286

    First started going to the Lane at the beginning of the 70s, the situation that we find ourselves in now is nothing new. Unitedites of my age will have been on this ride time and time again right down to the old Fourth Division ( League 2 ). Yes the game in the very top league has changed hugely and to quote Chris Wilder - the Premier is just to powerful for United. That should not mean we don't belong there but obviously Blades fans will never never never want a repeat of this embarrassing horrific season. I'm not bothered what anyone says Uniteds biggest downfalls have always been down to selling the BEST players, it's got to stop. Wilder says that he is going to get the team he supports back to where they belong, I wish him all the very best of good luck, he's going to need it because at the moment he is knee deep in S##T. Unitedites will be fully behind Chris Wilder next season with their fantastic support, the big question is - will Wilder have the support from the man who currently sits at the top. It's going to be an interesting pre Championship season. ⚔️⚔️UTB⚔️⚔️

C'MON YOU BLADES 👏 💪 👏

  • @5heffPaul
    @5heffPaul หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Our successful Premier League season was based on a solid defence. We only scored 39 goals but finished 9th! Why? Because we only conceded 39 goals, compared to the horrific 100+ this season 😔. We ended that season as the 4th best defence in the division. Was that defence full of proven Premier League players? NO. We had Hendo behind Baldock, Basham, Egan, O'Connell, and Stevens. Only Hendo has forged a top-flight career outside the Blades. CWAK needs to build the team around a new defence that is as well-drilled as the successful 2019-2020 squad. UTB ⚔️

    I don't know why we seemingly abandoned what got us success in the first place, which was lower championship and league one players. We were good at finding diamonds in the rough, and yet got to the prem and took the standard approach of trying to cherry pick the championships best, with mixed results and then some rising talent from other leagues. How many more Bashams are out there that for some reason we started to ignore because we were in the prem?

  • @andrewgalbraith9687
    @andrewgalbraith9687 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I've always said we need to accept the bad results until the end of the season and allow Wilder to rebuild in the summer. We were in freefall and have no leadership on the pitch, it was so hard to turn around mid-season. I think Wilder will sort it out and we'll come back stronger

  • @fa0676

    The club needs rebuilding around core players who at least have shown capability this season. Robinson, Arblaster, Hamer, Osborne, Brooks. If we can hold onto Baldock, then do so. The rest can go. We have never had a consistent, battling midfield, our defence is dismally disorganised and our attack pitiful in front of goal. I don't doubt Wilder and Knill know that. The pivotal blame point lies with HRH and his wishful thinking a side without NDaiye would do anything else but fail badly in the top flight. We'd have at least had five or six more points and a whole load more confidence with him holding the ball up and running at defences with Hamer, McAtee, BBD and McB to work with. Instead we have Souza, Norwood and (remember?) Fleck as options. Too late with Arblaster and Brooks spent too long as a second thought. We don't have time to 'consolidate' next season, lest we find ourselves fighting consecutive relegation battles and we also have two astronomically important games we simply HAVE to win also to maintain any credibility in the cutlasses and white rose. Sort it out.

    even the apparent poor clubs within the prem are so much better squad wise and better equipped than the 3 clubs that come up.
    they have the ability to bring game changing players on from the bench which we did not have.
    without investment when you are promoted you will be lucky to survive.
    we are not premier league standard squadwise or behind the scenes.

    As Neil Warnock always stresses, it´s all about man management. I think Hecky had lost the dressing room. After the 8 - 0 defeat to Newcastle, he just didn't have the rhetorical and motivating skills to push the players forward. We can´t expect Klopp-like skills at Bramall Lane on a tiny budget, but Hecky was nowhere near. At least CW knows how to give the players a kick in the rear when they deserve it, and praise when it´s deserved..

    If Wilder truly hurt when he's lost 15times this season , then he should have donated his wage to charity.This is the 91pts squad of this time last season, with Hecky having a fraction of the budget Wilder had, so a rebuild is not that necessary. If he stays he will have us in league 1 by this time next season..

    • @robertcombley3561
      @robertcombley3561 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The whole point is that this isn't the squad of last season. NDaiye gone, Berge gone, Egan injured all season, Norwood past it, no Doyle

    • @dangalel1400
      @dangalel1400 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It absolutely is not the squad that got 91 points last season. Ndiaye carried us to that total - we absolutely wouldn't have got promoted without him, and if we had Archer or BBD instead of him. Doyle was also a much bigger player for us than McAtee was, and he was not replaced in CM until Arblaster started playing only a month ago. I know that's only 2 players, but they were big players and were pretty much the difference between us getting automatic and languishing, and probably failing, in the playoffs.

    No Ime sure we should not get rid of Wilder especialy in this take over, that's if it happens, he already knows the system of our club & ime sure he knows the players he would like to bring in, let's face it our owner wants to get his money retrieved not only because he realised he had not got the resources to carry on with football & I don't think he knew much about football & the costs, He finished Wilder when ime sure he shouldn't have & ime sure this was a conspiracy with his board to remove him it's a pity but it looks like we will never hear the true story! In my opinion Wilders players & & fans loved him , was he getting to big for this owner & Co. Ime sure this was the reason, why would our owner want him back,& believe O.k he knew Wilder would come & only because the love in his heart for our club because I doubt if our owner made a vital mistake in the first place because that's was the point in The Blades falling appart from then on, let's give him the benefit of the doubt for now please supporters stop nocking him down, & let's see first what happens with this take over. I've been a Blade from my decendants for 69 years through thick & thin.

  • @sheffsteel7
    @sheffsteel7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    My only issue with Hecky was he never gave it a go. He just accepted the defeat, put most players in defence to keep the score down. We didn't even approach games like a Championship side, we approached games like a mid table league 1 side playing a PL side in the cup. Where as under Wilder we're having far more attacks. We were again the better side against Forest but the defence lacks pace and look so vulnerable to the counter attack. Also think the defence are overworked because there's no solidity in midfield. Pretty sure the pragmatic negativity by Hecky would have precented us receiving some 5 and 6-0 thrashings but don't think we'd have win a single match with Hecky in charge. Think we'd have beaten Derby low points record with Hecky in charge. The only issue now is that many of the players and even Wilder may suffer from PTSD. If we start badly, then confidence could drop really badly. Logic would suggest a fresh start all-round, however I'd still give Chris the Summer, he has a great track record, knows the issue and problem players better than anyone, so lets see what he can do. If we're no where near the play-offs at Christmas time or start with loads of defeats then get rid. Don't think we've had a midfield since Coutts, Fleck and Duffy and we haven't had a set style of play for 2 years apart from give it to Norwood and lump it forward. So I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next season, loads of changes so anything could happen.

    I've been wholly unimpressed by Hamer. Too loose with his passing for me. No player has had a great season but for me that £15 mill gives us options to buy a good few players. Let's not forget. Our team will be decimated. Potential exits for Boldock, Norwood, Bash, McBurnie, Egan, Lowe, Norrington-Davies, Wes, Jebbo McBurnie plus a few others. These need replacing as most will go on Free transfers. Obvs Archer and loan players also to go. We need money and I'm guessing only Hamer has value at the minute. Anel clearly wants to leave and we should get 5 mill, but 15 as talked about. Absolutely no chance. Traore, never going to see that 5 million again. Slimane poor too. Grbic, has been an awful signing. Maybe he needs time to settle, but I've seen nothing so far. Souza must go but again, how do we get our money back? Wilder is going to need a magic wand this summer. I have every faith he'll do it, but some assets need to be sold.
    It's a big summer

    Worst thing Sheffield United has done in the past 3 years. Should never allowed Wilder to come through the doors after what he did to the club in 2021.
