I don’t know why you don’t notice that Solomon abandoned his father’s god. The kings of Israel had been expressly required by law, and Solomon no longer complied with them at a later date.
- The law dealing with the king forbade the king to acquire many horses, and they should not be obtained from Egypt (Deut. 17: 14-16).
- The law forbade the taking of several wives and forbade the king to gather for himself much gold and silver (Deut. 17:17).
- The law forbade the marriage of women of other nations and ordered the destruction of all places of worship of other gods (Deut. 7: 1-5). The law forbade sacrifices to other gods, not to mention child-burnt offerings (Deut. 18:10).
However, all this Solomon did after abandoning the God of Israel, as you can read:
- 1. Kings 10: 26,28,29
- 1. Kings 11: 1-3
- 1. Kings 10: 14.27
- 1. Kings 11: 5-11
So why do you imagine that the God of Israel gave Solomon his endless blessings? God tore the kingdom out of his family, and Rehoboam his son received only the kingdom of the two tribes, which was called the Kingdom of Judah. The remaining 10 tribes came after Solomon to Jeroboam and are known as the Kingdom of Israel. Solomon seemed to rely too much on his wisdom so that he could not fall into the traps of which the king was warned.
The Jews know exactly why Solomon was destroyed. He eventually spent his time on anything other than the king's duties - and then he saw that it was useless too!

The Jews who follow the Torah do know what the steps of King Solomon are. It’s just very awkward for those who don’t really know the scriptures. It happens to them, as Paul says in 2. Timothy 4:3
BTW: Who gave all the promised land to the people of Israel? Hardly King Saul, David, or Solomon. Therefore, one might very emphatically ask, how had Solomon been given the right to GIVE AWAY part of this promised land to Hiram, king of Tire? Did he not exceed his authority and cause a state of emergency for the people? 1. Kings. 9:11
Fortunately for the people, they were not worthy of Hiram as the next verse shows!
King Solomon erected places of worship for false gods east of the Temple Mount on the nearby Mount of Olives. The Jews know this as the "Mountain of Corruption" (you can google it). By allowing his wives to burn their firstborns as sacrifices to Baal, Solomon was responsible for all of this.

Solomon sold out his faith for the love of riches, followed after other gods. Judas sold out God for the love of money was called the son of perdition. Judas was the only other person to be called the son of perdition except the man of sin. You always check scripture with scripture. Solomon will not be raised as the antichrist but there is definitely a connection with selling out the faith.

In 1 Chronicles 21 when David decides to count the people of Israel, why was that wrong? Curious to hear your understanding of this text.

i was interested in that too, but that's only one witness, which means it isn't valid. Solomon is attached to 666 twice, so we know it's not a coincidence

Hello, I read your commentaries all the time on blue letter Bible.
I counted the names listed in the Bible and it came to 666 with Solomon's mentioned. Psalm 72 is Solomon's inaugural Psalm and 73 follows in a very critical tone towards someone, and why is Asaph's other Psalm 50 grouped apart from the rest. Maybe too critical of Solomon.

Okay I have another question about the same text. Why do you think Joab did not count the Benjaminites or the Levites? I know it says that this thing was abhorrent to him but why Benjamin and Levi specifically?
As for rev 13 18 the 666 and wisdom and understanding are associated with king solomon in the OT. 666= Solomon. A beast would arise in the future from when Revelation was written that will be like him. Modern Israel is on the same land he ruled on 1000s of years ago, they want to build a temple like he did, the synagogue of satan believes their messiah will be like david and solomon which is why they call that star the star of david- it represents their messiah. jesus is the star of david per the bible though. the star of david is also called the star of solomon and solomon was a star of david because he was the greatest physical king ancient Israel had and an offspring of david. they think their messiah is coming to convert everyone to the noahide laws which means no belief in Jesus allowed and if you dont convert you get beheaded.

Paul as the antichrist? Very creative, although it doesn't seem to fit with the descriptions or scripture on who or what the antikristos or pseudokristos is, nor the events surrounding him.

The Bible only mentions the antichrist in First John, and clearly it refers to a group of Christians who left the congregation for Gnostic teachings. See the second chapter of First John, verses 18 - 23. Also a mention in 2nd John.
