Bruh it feels like half the comments here didn't even watch the video. I've that a lot of people in the fandom refuse to believe that the mimic and burn/glitchtrap are different characters, even though there is so much shit that is different between them like it feels like straight up denial that Afton is still around.
We must remember that scott isnt aware of the term "characterization" so him and steel wool writing inconsistent personalities for glitchtrap and the mimic while intending them to be the same person isnt completely out of the question

Saying this before whaching The Mimic is Glichyrap but Glichtrap isnt the mimic Glitchtrap did start as a copy of the mimic1 program but evolved into what he is and can now fight with the Mimic over diffrences

As a beliver of glitchtrap IS a mimic:
- Mimic isn't impulsive, as you say he has a plan, he is lureing smb, it takes time and some planing
- Inpatient (in the books), mimic is model after a child. Children are inpatient. If he was mimicing patient adult he will be more yk patient. Being inpatient isn't a mimic characteristic, it is a characteristic of a person that he mimics.
- Asshole , idk maybe this is a joke entry but still, this is your interpretation of a character, not a core trait. First examples you gave may suggest he is incompetent (he is young). Second
- Bad manipulator, you said it, it works, so why change it? Also for me it is a good manipulator tactic I more likely help a person I like not a rando

- Why he don't mimic personalities? Like this is what you headcanon.
And the most important thing: Mimic (the robot), Mimic (the glitchtrap) are two separate mimics. The same program, but different learning experience. If we both open MC paint and we both drew a black cat, they be a diffrent drawings. BUT they be made in MC paint and be a black cats.
Also it is not a retcon, this is giving more context. You wouldn't say killer being a William Afton is a retcone bc in a first game it was a phone guy. We just think we have a corect solution while it was just a most possible theory. By beliveing that glitchtrap is a William you must explain htf he can be scan into a computere game. It much more possible that they scan mimic who was model after Willliam.

@@RedCrimsonRed I think a bit of confusion is the relative differences we see the mimic's in the epilogs, story's, and games. Mimic is a very inconsistent character overall.
Another thing I wonder, why the heck does Glitch trap want to do things to free mimic like we see in HW2

In the mask bot ending its not confirmed if its glitchtrap who gives us the mask, it could also be the protagonist as his last attempt on Revenge since for you to destroy glitchtrap you need to make a trade with king In PQ4 Meaning you have to give up the mask for glitchtraps code, giving it to cassie is you giving her key on how to destroy glitchtrap
Plus helptrap Doesnt need to imply mimic is helpi, because He Isnt either He takes control of helpi in ruin, or recreates him And pretending to be him
The helptrap in the files can mean that we as protagonist of HW2 help the trap mimic later take part in also noticed how throughout the whole hw2 glitchtrap is trying to kill you in mimigames
