The original daymaker I put on my 07 RG on day one on sale with the single led and 3 for high beam is a way better upgrade than the stock 18 "daymaker" junk! Not to mention my old Halogen bulb version...
I have a 2023 road glide limited and the stock headlights suck. Glad you went over the adjustment on it thank you. I hit a dead deer Sunday morning that was in the middle of the road around 4:00 am. Didn’t see it until I got right on top of it and my headlights were on bright. Definitely going to adjust them then may end up changing them out anyway. Thanks for the info
Very good video with a great spread of type of lights. I guessed CD/CVO/Day maker I would offer this as far as your test. There is more to lighting than the distance it reaches (also known as throw). There is the “hot spot” factor. The CD lights are powerful, but have very noticeable hot spots. Evenly diffused light is the best way to go. The CVO light is definitely showing great throw and diffused! I say CVO for the win for sure!! This is the best headlight HD has ever put on a bike in my opinion. Thanks for the video Que
That's great info. I wasn't aware of the specific lingo for what I was seeing, but I didn't notice that the CVO light was consistently bright for the area directly in front of the bike and to the side. The CD light is very bright in some spots and not so bright in others.
The custom dynamic light definitely had more side visibility than the other 2. I felt that the CVO light provided more consistent bright light in front of the bike
The side view is impressive, but I question its usefulness. By the time you see something on the side (going 80mph) you have already passed it. The CVO casts a brighter light in front.
Nice video. Got alot from this video. I have a new 23cvo rg and a 19. No comparison. I even adjusted the headlight. The 23 is so much superior. No matter what I do.
The Custom Dynamics light is definitely bright. I feel like the CVO headlight is slightly better in front of the bike where it counts the most. CD provides a much wider field of view....but I'm not sure the side lights provide alot of value on the roads
@@RidingandWrenching yes sir. As you already know the factory light only illuminates in front of the bike. The Attack light illuminates to either side a whole lane may be two and it distance is improved immensely. I couldn’t read signs or see intersections well prior to the switch.
Thank you. The new CVO light is outstanding. I'm really curious what the aftermarket will do to compete with this light. I would rate it "best in class"
Great comparison video. I can definitely appreciate the CVO headlights but in the grand scheme of things upgrading lights are definitely cheaper than buying a new bike. Especially when I love my bike, 2016 Road Glide Ultra. I just wish the lights with custom dynamics weren’t the circle headlights look. I think it gives them a look of the old style Road Glide. I actually really like the shape of the Harley day makers but wish they provided more visibility. I’ll continue to wait for some headlights made by Custom Dynamics that are more appealing visually to me.
Definitely a very different looking headlight on the advanblack one. I’ve seen it but I’ve got mixed feelings. I guess I feel like I have to love something when I see it initially and there is no denying the brightness but the look is definitely very different.
I have LEDs on my bike and DO NOT like them. I have had the dealership check my alignment repeatedly and still the lighting is so poor that I no longer ride at night.
Thanks for the comparison. The CD lights look great for illuminating through turns, but I like the uniform field of the CVO light. Is the side lighting from the CD lights due to the vent lights?
Custom dynamics are better in my opinion they show alot wider field of view. Distance is as good as the cvo but the wide field is where its at especially for deer and other critters getting ready to cross in front of you.
The stock rg headlight is poor... Never had cd. The cvo is and upgrade but I will tell you this.... The Baja Designs blows every last one of them out of the water hands down..
Went riding with a group Daymaker was blinding me the entire time he was behind. He insisted on staying in the back Really pissed me off. Sorry but stock lights are good enough. And please, NO 4-way flashers in the rain
If you are getting blinded by any headlights they aren’t aimed correctly. And in our MSF course the instructor said to use the hazard lights in heavy rain so people can see you from behind. I prefer to seek shelter if it’s raining that hard.
I always turn on the emergency flashers in "heavy rain". I hope it helps people see me better. The Daymaker is nice until you ride with a brighter light.
i guessed CVO, CD, And Daymaker 3rd. But to me. The custom Dynamics was by far the best. Total viewing area and brighter light.
I think the custom dynamics carry more wider footage and the cvo is brighter on the straight way distances
the extra side vision of the custom dynamics lights helps others to see you from the side
That's true. The Custom Dynamics light is very good.
The original daymaker I put on my 07 RG on day one on sale with the single led and 3 for high beam is a way better upgrade than the stock 18 "daymaker" junk! Not to mention my old Halogen bulb version...
I agree. I have the Daymakers on my 2010 RG and they are far brighter than the later gens.

I highly recommend the Custom Dynamics Tru-Beam Headlight. You can buy it from Amazon. amzn.to/3SIHoFN

Looks like custom dynamics make some new headlights that look like Baja lights
I've seen those. If I can get my hands on a set, I will do another comparison
Good video, important info for all. I ride in the dark occasionally,in a rural area and lights are very important.
My stock sportster head light is a little brighter on the road then a glowing Q tip.
Hello Q from where I was sitting the camera view was 100% better on the custom Dynamic head lamps just my opinion.
The custom dynamic light definitely had more side visibility than the other 2. I felt that the CVO light provided more consistent bright light in front of the bike
I thought the Custom Dynamics were slightly better specifically the views to the left and right. But the CVO stock was really good.
The Custom Dynamics were the best for the wide view. I thought the CVO was brighter in front of the bike and provided adequate side lighting.
@@RidingandWrenching yes I agree
Looks like you need to get either CIRO lights or Eagle Lights to see which are better for the 2022 CVO
There are no lighting upgrades available for the new CVO yet. The stock light is pretty good!
I like tge custom dynamic more because of the side view
The side view is impressive, but I question its usefulness. By the time you see something on the side (going 80mph) you have already passed it. The CVO casts a brighter light in front.
Nice video. Got alot from this video. I have a new 23cvo rg and a 19. No comparison. I even adjusted the headlight. The 23 is so much superior. No matter what I do.
Agreed! If I keep the 22 Limited, I will be replacing the headlight
I went back and forth between the Custom Dynamics and the CVO, hands down the Custom Dynamics.
The Custom Dynamics light is definitely bright. I feel like the CVO headlight is slightly better in front of the bike where it counts the most. CD provides a much wider field of view....but I'm not sure the side lights provide alot of value on the roads
My money was on Custom Dy but was pleased to see the CVO do so well. The Cds do have a larger field of visibility so you can see Bambi coming at ya.
By the time you see Bambi, it's too late!
Great content...... very different from everyone else the do HD videos..... but I missed something on the black bike..... 3❓️..... I like it
3 for now....one of them will be going soon.
Advan Black - Attack head is excellent. Distance and wider angle. Try it.
Will do. Is that what you have on your Road Glide?
@@RidingandWrenching yes sir. As you already know the factory light only illuminates in front of the bike. The Attack light illuminates to either side a whole lane may be two and it distance is improved immensely. I couldn’t read signs or see intersections well prior to the switch.
Good info! Custom dynamics
Good comparison
Very nice real world comparison. Thanks
Thank you. The new CVO light is outstanding. I'm really curious what the aftermarket will do to compete with this light. I would rate it "best in class"
@@RidingandWrenching That will be interesting. And I wonder if any of the elements/design will make it's way from the cvo to the aftermarket.
I prefer the Custom Dynamics, much wider view since the fairing is fixed. Excellent comparison 😎👍
Thanks!
Good comparison review! Bikes look great!
Thanks! 👍
I guessed the 2023 CVO Rd. glide
Great comparison video. I can definitely appreciate the CVO headlights but in the grand scheme of things upgrading lights are definitely cheaper than buying a new bike. Especially when I love my bike, 2016 Road Glide Ultra.

Great point! I think Advanblack has a nice looking light that's not the circle look, but I haven't used them

@@mrjkjhoedog the only other option that I know of is the Baja look with 1 yellow, 1 white. I'm not sure if I like that.
Same here. Definitely very different.
Informative video very original
Glad you liked it!
Custom Dynamic 1st, CVO 2nd and 22 Roadglide last
Do you have any photo/video of the low beams for the Custom Dynamics lights? I think the video only showed the high beams, no?
The video is with low beams. I neglected to put the CD on high beam
I have LEDs on my bike and DO NOT like them. I have had the dealership check my alignment repeatedly and still the lighting is so poor that I no longer ride at night.
I guessed CD, CVO, 2018.
Thanks for the comparison. The CD lights look great for illuminating through turns, but I like the uniform field of the CVO light. Is the side lighting from the CD lights due to the vent lights?
No, I think it is built into the main light housing, but I'm not 100% sure. I'll have to check
CD, CVO, Daymaker
Custom dynamics are better in my opinion they show alot wider field of view. Distance is as good as the cvo but the wide field is where its at especially for deer and other critters getting ready to cross in front of you.
I agree, but the CVO is brighter in front of the bike.
Didn’t like how on the custom dynamics one turn signal was kinda sequential and the other just flashed on headlight
I didn't notice that, I'll have to take a look
1:32 you can see it, the ones around the headlight.
Great video Cue and very interesting. Thanks for sharing 👍🔥
Thanks!
The stock rg headlight is poor...
Never had cd. The cvo is and upgrade but I will tell you this....

The stock light sucks! Especially compared to ANYTHING else
🤣🤣🤣 man, I know what it is now!
I'm afraid to ask....
