I saved this trip to my Favorite Big Rig Travels file. On 33, Steve drove passed Nelsonville Green Lawn Cemetery. My parents and my brother, grandparents, and others are buried there. When Steve said there was a big wind, I was thinking that's my family saying "Hi" to Steve and the road crew. Thank you, from Southeast Alabama.
Very varied drive through the East, enjoyed it a lot, from the peaceful villages of Ohio, with snow in March, to the mountains of West Virginia And Virginia. The I-64 must be one of the most spectacular Interstates in the east, is it the highest one too? It reaches altitudes of over 800m. Thanks a lot for letting us join you in your trips, greetings from a fellow roadtripper and creator from Germany!
We start from the shipper in Johnstown via local streets to OH-37. Then South on OH-37 thru Alexandria to the Pilot Truck Stop in Hebron, OH to get weighed. Then back South on OH-37 to US-33. Then East on US-33 thru Lancaster and Athens and across the Ohio River into West Virginia to I-77. Then South on I-77 to the Love's Truck Stop in Fairplain, WV for the 30 minute break. Then back South on I-77 into the Charleston, WV Metro Area to I-64/I-77 in Charleston. Then South/East on I-64/I-77 (West Virginia Tpke.) passing by Downtown Charleston (with a good shot of Downtown Charleston beforehand) and by the West Virginia Capitol Building and thru the Appalachian Mountains to I-64 in Beckley. Then East on I-64 into Virginia to the Love's Truck Stop in Covington, VA where Steve ends for the day.
