In fact any singer can sing any song which he has not sung originally however exceptions are there but few. Here then it all comes down to who can do full justice. Because alka has a soft melodious voice so her voice might not suit as good as Sunidhi voice can. But that doesn’t not mean she ain’t better singer than Sunidhi. If you look at both ladies career you would find Alka has seen more awards and produce more hits than Sunidhi. Also her jibe at those cheap lyrics songs is justified. Look at this era there are very melodious songs nowadays. You sound so jealous bro

Now let's talk of K S Chithra ji. She sang many bollywood songs which was replaced by same songs sung by Alka Yagnik ( e.g. Tum mile, dil khile) and other singers. I personally liked Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosale, Alka Yagnik, Shreya Ghosal and Sunidhi Chauhan. And Sunidhi is not all about Beedi jaleile and Crazy kiya re but also.... "meri zindegi mein ajnabee ka intzaar hai from Ajnabee", " mere haath mein tera haath ho from Fanaa" and many more. She is versatile and this speech from Alkaji is so unexpected and sour. I like and respected her so much. But really I see the problem here. She dominated the industry in the 90s. She didn't like the change. Instead she should have accepted it happily.
