Very nice model. What is truly incredible is how that relatively small ship carried forty men. Never a moment to yourself, no way to leave. I love the saying "when boats were made of wood, and men were made of steel" Thank you for sharing your project.
Looking stunning. It has been a great help to me. I am almost at the rigging and can see that there is very little explanation. I think its's going to be really difficult!
Very nice I have the same kit well.... as a matter of fact I have quite a few of Artesania Latina kits that I have not built yet, I got to get to it. The ship is looking very good though keep it up.
Hi Carlos, I am using a couple of books which I downloaded from the net. One book is just diagrams about rigging, its fantastic. Its called The Rigging of Period Ship models by Lennarth Peterssen, I think you could get a lot of help from there. I will be updating my ship build soon here as well with the latest.
Ahoy! Tell me, did your kit come with the red emblems for the sails? I have nothing in my kit for that - do you know the solution? I am busy preparing some red, faded cloth to make them from. Can you tell me if this is the way you are doing it as well? Thanks so much. I would post a pic of mine for you to see but I don't know where to post it! Happy sails, Dawn
Hi Dawn, yes it came with some sticker-like fabric flags that attached to a small amount of copper rod (or a mix of copper and something else) which had to be assembled.
Hi Dawn, the capstan is located under the top deck, behind the main mast. look at the large diagrams that are on the plans, the full size ones. You can see the capstan in the profile view I think from memory where it is meant to go. If you are still stuck let me know and and I can take a photo for you. ps) The rigging is tricky, but I think I have worked out most of it. I'll put up the names of the books I am using when I get home.
Thanks so much for the help. Your ship looks beautiful! Yes, I did get the capstan in the end, thank you and am busy with the main mast now. The rigging looks like it could be really difficult and I must say any help would be appreciated! Thank you so much for replying.and well done for a really great job!

But where oh where is the capstan placed? I can find it nowhere.
