Some sources attest that Dean's last known words, uttered just before impact after Wütherich told Dean to decelerate as the Ford Tudor pulled into their lane, as: "That guy's gotta stop ... Actually, its been scientifically proven that his speed was not as outrageous as at first thought. However, he was not going the speed limit. He was not particularly driving dangerously in the sense that the road in that spot (been there) Is wide open for miles through a valley. What happened was that his low to the ground silver spider almost disappeared with the sun beating down and causing a mirage effect on the road. Why did the driver of the car Dean hit think he could squeeze in front of the Porsche that was clearly flying down the road? He endangered himself also and got Dean killed, but he walked away unscathed because Dean's tiny Porsche carried all the momentum. Turnipseed was not paying attention and made a careless turn right in front of a moving vehicle on the Interstate, and killed one of the best actors from the tail-end of the Golden era of Hollywood.
@@Jean_Pierre_Wehry I understand your point. But mine was that we shouldn’t glorify his death and blame turnipseed when they clearly both broke the law.
James Dean an acting genius who left us way too soon at the age of 24. He died in a car accident while driving his Porsche Spyder 550 on his way up to the race in Paso Robles, CA on September 30, 1955 in Cholame, CA. He came to junction 41 and 46 when the driver going northeast on 41 slammed into Jimmy's car broadsided on left fender and driver's door. Jimmy saw him but neither car stopped. Porsche flew into the air and landed in a ditch. Jimmy did not survive but his mechanic barely did. They were less than 30 minutes from their destination. James Dean (1931-1955). Gone too soon.
He sure was a great talent, a great actor whose life led to a tragic end. Just like Paul Walker, the two remind me of each other. It's crazy to think that James Dean was only 24 when he died. That's two years older than I am and you can then only imagine how's career and how short it was but he had an impact in film and culture. How young he was in these interviews.... he was really just a kid.

@@bigdawg7718 He wasn't going twice the speed limit as the papers (whose job it is to exaggerate incidents like these, by the way) had first reported. Investigators said it was more like 70 in 55 MPH zone, which is still speeding, but here's my argument.

Such a laidback coolness. Everything he does seems so cool. Never seen anyone like Dean since I discovered him decades ago. First and only.
My immortal live james dean for ever ❤️
Just watched Giant start to finish for first time Sept. 17, 2017. I figure I may have to do a James Dean U-tube binge.Dude was cool.
Thanks, Mr. Boilerplate.
Sounds sacrificial to i
My favorite US President
Yeah, I loved that one time he moved the Statue of Freedom to the Grand Canyon to make more floating heads!
And both in Porsches. Rog.
TY corrado, ahhh.. I always have a feeling of reverance when hearing James voice. His sloooow rythm. His good soul. His natural style.
3 amazing movie, in 2 years, 2 Academy Award nominations. Stuff of legends. If only he had been couple of seconds more faster or slower I would have had more movies on my list of favorites.
This commercials just shows how relaxed and easy going life used to be back then.
On god every one was so chill
Sixty Five years after his death his image is still strong. ( Legend )
Di cosa parli chi se lo ricorda...namo dai

I remember then his images are still plastered everywhere from posters to wall clocks and fans still remembers him long after his gone. Its unheard of from someone who have passed already decades ago. His story in Hollywood was one for the books bc he got even bigger in death and his lasting impact was still being felt up to this day. Only idiots like you thinks otherwise.
Love James Dean. He had charisma 👍
He's so beautiful
@Jesse Mitchell they can also be considered beautiful you goof
wow. what a haunting interview. god bless you, james dean.
James Dean was taking from the world far too soon. Maybe I did not know him but I can say he was a great guy. R.I.P James Dean great man, great actor, and great person.

Rip James dean. 1931-1955. Forever a legend
I love how he is still in character off the set of giant. Method acting for you
He's not. That's not the accent he uses in that movie at all.
Mister president 🇺🇸
?
RIP James Dean (February 8, 1931 - September 30, 1955), aged 24
You will always be remembered as a legend.
He lived a very exciting and full life for his age Motorcycle, movie star, wonderful family So glad for him to have experienced so much
It’s so sad it’s been 65 years and he’s still gone. 😞like we really won’t see him or anybody like him again
in 65 years no man has even got within a million miles
Best President
I agree. Even my dad thought he was cool
0:10 I was expecting him to say: "Incidentally I think should explain, that Jimmy just stepped over from the set of Giant... into the Twilight Zone"
he's so classy and casual
My mums crush was James dean when she was a teenager.
And my crush was james franco when I was a teen.
Both look so similar and handsome!
I was searching for a James Franco comment.
Yes i agree...
write a fan-email to Franco. Who knows.
Man, Dean was way ahead of his time. You could almost say he inspired the likes of Brad Pitt's style of acting.
Bill Hicks I felt River Phoenix channeling him more imo.
This is Way too creepy. It almost seems like there hinting at something.
right! I thought so too. and the fact that they were the ones that gave him the script AND in the background the photo of him on the wall is like a photo for a funeral, just really weird and creepy. someone/some people cursed him tbh. jealousy.
Great interview..... So natural and yet so informative
