My 2021 had real buttons for climate and radio and I love it. The shift to a single large screen is to be expected given where market is going but I’m glad I have my old style instead with no auto engine shutoff too! I absolutely love its utility, mileage and comfort on long highway drives.
Picked up a 2024 Touring 2 weeks ago for the wife. I hate having no physical buttons and knobs for the HVAC. It is indeed laggy. But once set it's good! The volume button for audio is on the bottom of the steering wheel. The skip forward and back button is on the very top. Annoying. They should be at least on a D pad like on my 2017 Forester XT. Fuel door locks when you lock the vehicle. I always lock my car when I fuel up since the fuel door is on the opposite side. Taking no chances for low life kids trying to hop into the driver's door to steal things.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed Wow, Your video is really interesting and captivating! However, I've noticed a few areas on your channel that could use improvement, which might be affecting your engagement, especially as a new channel. Very similar. I do like the Palisade and Santa Fe a bit better. Primarily since those feel more luxurious all around. Palisade feels like a Mercedes. The dash on this is very Subaru. So I think that takes a way some of the luxury aspects this could of had
I've owned 2 Subaru cars. A 1989 GL Wagon. A 1998 Impreza. I miss the dash layout of the '89. I don't own either anymore. One rotted out, the other was involved in a not-at-fault but the airbags popped out so the insurance company totaled it even though it still ran and moved. What I own now? A 1984 El Camino SS I like that Subaru made an 8-passenger. I'm interested in it because it would carry everyone close to me in my life now. But I will not spend my money on a vehicle that can steer or brake when it thinks it has to.
Don’t use cruise control unless your prepared to spend gobs of money for brakes pads and rotors Good luck getting use to the sensor on top of the dash..it too is defective. The 2020 model is best..as long as you don’t use cruise control
@ Subaru’s cruise control paces the vehicle in front of you and keeps you at the set speed using brakes and gas..I guess it would be fine if you are the only vehicle on the road?. But the brakes are too small for the Ascent model. It’s way too heavy, and at the dealer they had pictures of the Ascent pulling a small Airstream trailer with them tiny brakes,,anyways if your using cruise control going down a hill the vehicle will retain the set speed constantly applying brake force holding the set speed. On the other hand, the constant all wheel drive is not meant to take long road trips also because then they wear out the tires too fast! Subaru’s are best in the elements they were designed to navigate; mud and snow..
@ any adaptive cruise control will do that, it’s not special to Subaru. I know how adaptive cruise works. It’s not different than slowing the car down yourself or giving it gas, so not sure why you think that’s worse. But if that doesn’t work for you, buy something else. It’ll be the same with any vehicle though.
@ Regardless the Subaru braking system is way too small. Brake rotors should be bigger diameter..or just enjoy driving it in the snow Not long freeway cross country. Definitely not the right type of vehicle to drive across country
The backup camera view can be changed with a button on the screen. You can have a full reverse camera, or full 360 view. 👍

Yeah I'm not really a fan either
Excellent overview! I really like this SUV.
Thanks! 👍

Yeah a few quirks here and there with it for sure. Overall good family car tho!
What an in-depth video. With this video, I feel as though I could make a well-informed choice between this car and another. Much appreciated 👏
Glad you enjoyed it! Trying a new style on cars I get to test more long term ;)
@BrosFOURRSpeed Yeah, I could tell the new format. For lack of a better phrase, dare I state that it felt more mature.
@@AubreyBeauford Glad you liked it!
I love my 22 Ascent Touring!
Glad you enjoy it!
Whoa 😳 I’m from Texas. I would already be dead from heat stroke by the time that hvac system gets going. 😆Thanks for the review.
I'm from Texas as well, and I'm smart enough to remote start my car and get it comfortable before I get in.
You would have time!
lol, good call!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I’m just exaggerating of course 😊
@@winstondeocampo699 lol it’s definitely annoying some times. Those few seconds can feel like an eternity when it’s hot 🥵

lol yeah we get that a lot! Honestly we don't see it!
But glad you liked the video!
There is a max ac button for hot days
Yeah very true. Still need to wait for the screen to turn on and respond
Hopefully a new Boxer-6 engine once again soon, even as a Hybrid,
This time, much more powerful, with a total of 309 HP (vs current 264)
That'd be pretty cool!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yup, to help it match its more muscular image,
Reminds me of the Grand Higlander.
Yeah direct competitor for sure

less electronic..less things to pay for after warranty..Subaru rocks
Still plenty of electronics in these
Volume inside the vehicle test rive is absolutely HORRIBLE !!!!

2.4 liter
Yeah that's why I put 2.4L* on the screen when I said that..

What’s cruise control have to do with of and rotor replacements? It’s no different than cruising at a constant speed without using it..
